Airlines treat passengers like sheep.

Just sayin'. Typing with my left hand because I can't move my right arm.

Or stick to an airline with roomier seats. Never again will I fly SW by choice.

Seats are 10" wide. Guy beside me is 20" wide. The math works out poorly.

You know you've made it when you can just pick up the phone and say "Fuel my jet...be ready in 30."

Commercial first class is not what is used to be either. Coach is beyond absurd. Needs to be an emergency / too far to drive for me to fly.

Also I'm one of those people who think airline seats should not recline. I never recline but always seem to sit behind someone that does on the rare occasions I need to fly.

My sister and I got into a huge fight over this a few months ago. Reclining seats on planes are stupid.

The newer planes for domestic flights are horrible. I flew from JFK to SFO a few months back and couldn't sleep at all. The seat was too narrow and short. My brother who's in the industry told me that the newer planes have smaller seats so they can fit more seats onboard.

I'm one of the few that enjoys flying, lol.

Steerage class, err.....I mean coach/SWA isn't that bad if you get an aisle or window.

Not. I'm in a window seat on SWA. My back is killing me and I barely have room to type on my tablet. Forget using a laptop.

Currently planes usually run at the FAA limit for seat pitch, which is 32 degrees. Older aircraft used to have seats set up at 28 or 29 degrees. Might not sound like a lot, but it equates to a few inches in legroom

Delta Platinum Medallion. I buy first class tickets and it is still horrible. If it is less than 6 hrs, I drive.

Southwest? Only by gunpoint and there had better be a round chambered.

I dont fly Delta as much anymore but get Global Entry too. I came back into the country via Ft. Lauderdale from the DR. My connection was an hour. The customs line was over 1000 people and without Global Entry I would've missed it. I cleared customs in less than 1 minute and took a legit selfie via the kiosk. But the TSA agent wanted my receipt when exiting.

Ridiculous wait times coming back into this country. US citizens with a valid passport should be zipped through much more quickly. Get off a plane at Heathrow and you're outside the terminal in 30 minutes.

As bad as the seat situation is today, it's only going to get worse over time because of the basic economics of the industry:
  1. Razor thin operating margins (gross margin of the airline industry is only ~5%)
  2. Lots of competition
  3. Customers consistently purchasing the lowest fare option available

Okay, that last one is a simplistic statement. But the majority of flyers don't seem to care on which airline they fly from point A-to-B, they want the cheapest fare.

The future may look something like this...
