The second generation BMW M3 debuted in 1992. It offers a convincing combination of sports car and daily driver. This film gives you exclusive insights of former BMW heads about the car and its development process. Moreover it also shows a special edition, the BMW M3 GT. Stay tuned for the third part of our five part series about the most successful model of BMW M.

See the first part of the series at: The BMW M3 (E30) film. Everything about the first BMW M3 generation.

I miss my e36 M3 everyday. Had a '98 Estoril and '99 Titanium Silver. Still the best cars I've ever owned (even with their little quirks).

The E36 M3 always was, and still is the best bang for the buck.

Still the most hated M3 of all of time, but goddamn I love mine so much. Such an underrated car that people are now beginning to understand why it's so damn good:

I cheered when they showed the Techno Violet ones. The E36 M3 had THE best color palette of any cars!

I still love the look of the e36, even though it's very dated. Sometimes I see one in mint condition on the road and can't help but appreciate it. The driver-focused interior can't be beat. I want to buy one just because.

Love my 97 M3 sedan. It handles far better than any car I've driven. Also, it doesn't look as dated as most 97 model year cars do too.

Sucks so hard the US got boned on the e36 m3 engine. Otherwise I think it's one of the best looking BMWs ever made. Love those headlights they changed from the old school 70s/80s style. I wouldn't mind an e36 m3 lightweight any day, even though they are double/triple the price of a regular e36 m3. Love the paint scheme! I believe car and driver dubbed it the best handling car of the 90s.

here's mine...

funny thing is, the F80 was my 1st BMW ever. Acquired the E36 about 2 months ago as a winter HPDE project.

car runs awesome.

recently put in oil pan baffle, OPN mod, Xbrace, and bimmerworld PS kit.

next up is weld-in half cage, race seats, harness.

then cooling and suspension.

power mods will come after next season's use.

Could have had this car, but opted for the '98 twin turbo Supra. Loved that beast!! Prices were almost identical back then.

Did I make the right choice?? I'm sensing NO!!!!

Out of tune?

Dude, your crystal ball was broke down! Busted, jacked-up and just plain inoperative.
