Three news channels that exist only for the sake of making money. All three are involved in race baiting because there is money in it. CNN just takes it to new levels. US does not have a race problem what we do have is a news reporting problem.

I've watched CNN twice in my life. The first time was a live broadcast of the shitstorm in the middle east we now live with and the second was my fist breakfast in the USA. I'm pretty sure I lost most of my IQ in those two times.

You have to be careful when selecting newspapers as well. Many of them are more biased than the TV networks.

In the USA, yes. In Europe the press actually is pretty much obsessed with after 911 oppression time so they all tend to dig a bit.

I'm truly not saying our press is better, since we all are aware of the business aspects. But here they seem to gather intelligence and they write clips that are meant to be read until the last line.

My city, Tampere, has aamulehti as the main paper. A few months ago they ran a story from history. Sierra Leone, their lovely civil war.

It told the story right. It gave us two former best friends who were without limbs now just because "if you're not fighting for us, we'll make sure you're not fighting against us".

Nice. All the usual were mentioned. Blood diamonds, gun industry, lost lives and how hard it is to reconstruct a country. The main story was that they had a football cup there.

One picture. Men playing football (soccer to you) on crutches and the two guys who were friends, chopped off each others legs, and no going after the ball. The article wasn't meant to make the reader feel good about ignoring Africa, it was written so us in Finland could see that life goes on.

In the current climate, that actually is news.

Strikes me as odd that Salon would draw such conclusions.

I wonder where they would put Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow, Stephen Colbert, Joy Behar, Whoopie Goldberg, Oprah, Ed Schultz, etc.?

The only difference is the size of the audience; left-wing talk radio apparently can't draw much of a crowd. But the "hate speech" is every bit as bad, if not worse. And "fomenting anger within the party?" How much anger have we seen from the democrats, especially in the last 8 years?
