Photobucket can go F themselves.
With that said, I guess you can't be mad that a free service has shut it's doors on you. Damn, 15 years of forum posts just wiped out. Think about how many DIY threads are now almost meaningless.
Also the fact they say that the site is not ad profitable is bullshit for sure. What is another good free hosting site? Wouldn't it be great if they just had a "Transfer from Photobucket" button? Someone should do that. |

True, most of which will be from members no longer active so they wont be updated.
Then again I dont understand how photobucket now probably has signed their economical death sentence. Paid photohosting is imho not a viable business model.

I read some article that talks about how many hundreds of million photos they have currently shared online. That's probably why they did it, some wiseguy ran a formula and discovered that they'd make more money by charging the few left who "need" to pay in order to avoid the hassle of transferring years and years and thousands of photos. In any event, fuck them.

I don't even understand why people post to photobucket and then link to here?
Why not just upload straight to the forum. It's what I been doing ever since joining. |

Some forums don't allow images to be attached to your post, you have to use a 3rd party host...but I always attach images when I'm on here

Something like photobucket (or any other photohosting) only has an added value if they're free imho. I think you can get your own domain name for like $1/year and you could couple it to your own free webspace that usually comes with your provider and you can link it as long as you have that domain name and still be free to switch providers whenever you want....

Yeah fk photobucket. Stopped using them like 10 years ago when they were purposefully making it difficult to use the service for free. Some good alternatives posted here, but Imgur also has free image hosting.
