Albert Biermann, Former VP Engineering M Division, Speaks Candidly
Straight from the source. These aren't your father's BMWs.

My kinda guy. I just picked up a 2018 m4 comp with all the trimmings. Had it not proven durable and reliable both on public roads and track since release, I wouldn’t have made the purchase.
I really enjoyed his f8x technical presentations through the media outlets via YouTube. Good luck to him and the genesis brand. This may well be my last m car if they don’t reshuffle the focus on m for Motorsport. |

Perfect example of a solution seeking a problem, thanks for sharing. This, I think, is a good example of the sort of gimmickry and complexity without purpose that Biermann, and some driver-centric buyers like me, find frustrating about BMW.
Reminds me of some of the useless tech GM used to hype in the bad old 80s and 90s.

Meh, who is more credible? Biermann, or current M-division leadership under van Meel, focused on AWD, automatic transmission, hybrid power, 4,000+ lbs piggy Prius copies?

Been driving for 17 years and iv used cruise control 3 times. Majority of tech on cars is pointless and useless to most nothing but an unnecessary cost and just more shit that can go wrong and cost me more dollars.
Latest from BMW and Acura has left me disappointing, Lexus is still built like a tank but the Genesis might be my next car. The man is right, there just is to much tech for purpose of bs marketing and bs hype jobs. |
