This is certainly a first for me. I never thought I would be the one to spend money on art to hang up in my place, but I did it today...

I bought my house in June, and the furniture and other pieces have been slowly coming together. Other than painting the master bed and bath, nothing decorative has really been done, and it was starting to bother me.

This month is going to be a good month then... I am buying a BIG screen tv (56"), some plants, and this painting to help decorate my main living room

So here is the painting that I bought (not copied or a print) . It is an original and professionally done. Your thoughts???

Looks great,very modern and avant-garde. I'd love to see it in context,with the rest of the decor.

I like it. Can I ask who the artist is? I have some very tall walls in my condo and they just dwarf everything I try to hang. I like that style.

nice. ive always loved art and after taking art history in high school i just fell in love even more. i hope to put together some sort of collection when i get older.

She does all the painting herself, and she says she will have it shipped out in 10 days...


I also got it for a little cheaper than it says on her website. She says the accents are brown and not black actually... Im now in the market for maybe a brown leather couch

Looks like she is here local in Tampa. Maybe I'll go check out the gallery.

It's okay if you like the image. I wouldn't place much value on that as an "original" artwork though.

The style has been used, but its not a print. Thats I guess moreso what I was getting at...

Big screen is coming first...

Then:
New water heater
New Refridgerator
THEN... new living room couch...

Thats only the big items... The smaller item list is already too long...

(The joys of owning a home .... has its advantages, but its a money pit...)

The derogatory term for these are "paint-by-numbers" originals. At the extreme they have sweat shops in the far east where artists mass produce originals so they can reach costco or ikea and retail for $125 framed.

Anyway, what you paid is about what a reproduction would go for so if you like the image you got a pretty good deal.

I'm a bit biased because I work for an art publisher.
