Who in here is a systems administrator or something IT related??
After reading the avg age of a bmw owner Im kinda curious who here is a systems admin or something IT related, it can be from helpdesk to DBA. I mean I see alot of people constantly posting during the day and most systems admins do jack shit.
I am a great example . I am a syst admin and I surf the net all day? Servers are crashing no problem If your not in IT put your career down anyway = stupid thread |

Network Admin at my last job. Now a programmer/it manager. I'm 27.
Job isn't bad but it's unhealthy to sit around all day. |

I'm more of a research engineer I suppose. I started out as a transportation/civil engineer but I'm going more into the R&D side in terms of simulations and modelling. So now I'm still doing transportation work but also some side R&D into healthcare.
So uhhh...I guess I can be considered semi-IT since about 90% of what I do is computer-related and programming. And yes, I sit on my butt all day. On the plus side, I can actually afford to buy a BMW. (damn I should have gone for the M3 sedan given how many young ones are driving E90's...except there's this thing called "mortgage" and "taxes" I've got to deal with still). |

Actually, the IT guys at my work are great. They are very responsive and for the most part they know their shit very well. Kudo's to all you IT guys that provide great service to the rest of your organization. It's a tough job and you're often taken for granted. |
