Clearwater Beach, FL
Down in clearwater 'til Tuesday with the lady, wondering if there were any recommendations as far as attractions, restaurants, or things to do. This goes for the surrounding areas as well, Tampa, St Petes, etc. We just got in this morning, and have been enjoying the beach and bars around, but don't want to miss out on a gem because lack of knowledge of the area.
I appreciate any recommendations!! |

Ybor is the club/bar place of the area. If you want a decent amusement park then hit Busch gardens. If you’re military or a vet they do free tickets

Op....if you go to Ybor and like comedy “ The Improv” gets national acts. Worth checking.
Not sure where you’re staying but the Don Caesar resort on St Pete beach is a landmark and worth seeing. Busch Gardens is always a blast! If you like baseball there’s always the Tampa Bay Rays who play at Tropicana Field in St Pete. If they are in town you can score a ticket easily. |

Frenchy's Rockaway Grill on Clearwater Beach is pretty solid for fresh seafood and an "on the beach" atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
As others have said - Ybor City is going to be the nightlife spot. Saw Billy Currington at The Ritz a couple years ago there... good times |

If you like Greek food, Tarpon Springs and visit the Sponge Docks.

Dinner:
Salt Rock Grill - Indian Rocks Beach (just a little south of you ~20 mins or so depending on where you are in Clearwater) Middle Grounds - Treasure Island (even further south ~30 mins) Coopers Hawk - Tampa (5 mins form the airport) Flemings - Tampa (a few doors down from Coopers) Eddie V's - Tampa (a few doors down from Flemings - bring your check book but worth it) Coopers, Flemings, Eddie V's are all across from International Mall maybe go there for the afternoon with the lady (bad idea I know) and dinner across the street Lunch: Frenchys (there are 3 locations in Clearwater - go to the Cafe location - off the beaten path - locals like it better than the beach tourist trap) Palm Pavillion Sloppy Joe's in Treasure Island (going there to day myself) There are many other lunch spots, just take a drive down Gulf and see what you like Have a great trip |

Thanks for all of the recommendations! Ybor City is on the list! Just debating when we want to get out there, is parking a pain in the ass? We opted to just uber to our hotel from the airport and skip the rental since our hotel offers free transport up and down clearwater beach and into downtown clearwater.
So my options are I either pick up a rental for a few days, which has its pros and cons, or we just uber the places we want to go(st petes, treasure island, and tampa). Pros we go where we want and don't have to worry about paying for 100 different ubers. Cons we have to limit our drinking(not the end of the world but still im on vacation damnit), and we have to worry about parking. In my shoes what does everyone recommend? |

down in Apollo Beach is the manatee viewing area. It's pretty cool if you're into marine life.
Check out the Aquarium too. Couple options. Central Florida Aquarium and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The clearwater one is kinda famous as the movie "A dolphin's tale" is about it. Hit up Busch Gardens if you want to go to an amusement park. |

With that in mind I was more concerned with convenience and drinking then spending the extra dough. Quote:
Most likely just going to Uber and enjoy the free transport and booze! I’d much rather her have a few drinks and relax then driving my drunk ass back to the hotel haha! |
