806hp Koenigsegg CCX gets better mileage than an M3...

"But think again: thanks largely to the car’s slender weight and stellar aerodynamics, the fuel economy is shockingly good. With a federal mileage rating of 15 in town, 24 on the highway, the CCX avoids a gas-guzzler penalty."

That type of fuel economy from a 806hp car is hard to believe. Quarter mile in 9.9 at 146 mph! Damn.

The CC-X is an impressive all-round package. I hugely respect it.

A lot of coasting in neutral?

I went to the bigger dealership this morning. 4 M6's. 8 M5's. 7 M3's.....sitting all by their lonesome. The silverstone/black e93 M on the showroom floor...

Well when you eliminate the problems of weight and aerodynamics, it's not at all impossible to achieve those figures. The C6 gets hella good mileage too.

Pulled it off Wiki. A low drag coefficient helps a lot.

What about the CCXR? I know e85 kills your mileage but I imagine it would be gas guzzler tax exempt being an alternative fuel vehicle.

The CCX is my favorite car visually. I had no clue about the MPG, thanks for sharing. Goes to show what composites, etc can do.

Now imagine the same type of materials in a 200hp car for the mass market, the MPG numbers would be fantastic. Someone needs to develop a way to create composites on a mass scale.

Is this on pump gas or on bio-diesel?

Technically you can get better than that in theory. My aunts '02 'Vette got 29 mpg @ 70-75mph on a road trip. Think of what it would be cruising at 60mph.

I've heard people getting an aveage between 22-25 with mixed driving daily driving.

If you are spending that kind of money on a car and are worried about gas mileage you truly are an idiot.

I almost feel the same way about any BMW. If your worried about the mileage dont buy an expensive car and go get a civic or something. If you cant afford or dont want to spend the money for gas then the BMW is not the right car for you.
