Marina Bay Blue touch up not available ?

Chaps,
Been having difficulty in getting either, a touch up stick, or a tin of paint spray in MBB. Been told today, that BMW are not going to be offering either in the near future. Have any of you managed to get a tin of paint made up etc ?. Very, very surprised by BMW on this, just why ?.

Im not sure as to BMW's mentality here but I had the same issue with obtaining Frozen Dark Red. So I went to this site and gave my paint code (from the bonnet of the car) and they made it for me. I got it in less than 4 business days from order:

Thanks for the reply Vic,
Ive persuaded my dealer to make me up a pot of paint, but he was telling me, it would go off, as its water based and not solvent based, which means nothing to me ?. I just want to be ready for the inevitable odd chip etc.
Do you find it an ok match etc ?

The match was spot on--- they used the code and voila. But Frozen colors are just hard to match in general. I think you will be just fine.

Much appreciated. Ive just tapped the paint code into Google, and asked for suppliers in the UK, and it seems there is quite a lot of options, good old google . I think i will be able to source some no problem. Just a bit of a lowball about BMW not willing to supply. Never mind. The car is split mint atm, so maybe im asking for trouble in my quest for some paint, lol

I just checked Dr color chip which I have used for years to touch up my cars and they don't have it either! They were always my go to. Hopefully what Vic found works.

depending on how bad the chip is, a blob of touch up will always show up.

Same here, went to dealer before getting car detailed.
I told them give me a touchup paint, none available, this is truly BS.
I do not understand why this is a problem ?
fortunately my guy was able to source by his nieghbour body shop and replicate the color prior to CQuartz finish. But still......

I guess it might be due to control of certain colors that are specific to certain models only? Like say MBB is unique to M5 only. Just to prevent non M5 to spray this color?
