Which companies manufacture SpO2 sensors for Fitbit and Apple Watch?
As the question states. I used my good friend Google, who served up far more chaff than wheat.
Which company(ies) manufacturer the blood oxygen sensors for Fitbit and Apple Watch? Thanks. |

Nonin, BCI & Nellcor are manufacturers. As to which Foxconn, Wistron, Pegatron, Goertek, Qualcom, Murata or Samsung are using to sell to Apple, I have no clue. That should at least give you a decent starting point.

Thanks King Rudi I ran across Welch Allyn and Masimo. Looking on each of these companies' websites, I didn't see mention of miniature or wearable sensors, at the size/form factor a watch requires. Is it possible one of these companies is producing for Fitbit or Apple, and not indicating it on their websites? |

Nonin is what I use to spot check my patients. We use Drager and Masimo sensors at my hospital. To be honest, a PulseOx is just an infrared light that measures 02 content in the blood. You can buy cheap $20 PulseOx's at Walgreens, they work fine and last a long time. The "bells and whistles" would be a unit that can detect CO (carbon monoxide), has blue tooth or wifi to trend data, and is small and portable.
I think having an SpO2 monitor on a wearable device is awesome. It will benefit many COPD and chronic lung patients. |
