I thank the members of this forum for helping me with my questions about my M and i have now had a little spark that wants me to mod my 911 2s cab but need a reputable site with hopefully the same support this one has done for me.

I know many of you guys also own porsche's and was hoping you had a good forum to share with the rest of us.

I will be greatly appreciated.

definitely try 6speedonline. i spend a lot of time there drooling over the cars those guys have lol.

porsche has the heaviest support on that website mainly because there are a lot of porsche owners out there compared to the other exotics.

not to mention the board sponsors seem really helpful

www.6speedonline.com - strongest info on 996 and 997, 986 and 987
forums.pelicanparts.com - strongest on the aircooled 911s, especially pre-964
rennlist.com - great support for the 964 and 993, 924/944/968, best 928 site for US

It somewhat depends on which 911 you have. Owners go by version number (964, 993, 996, 997) like BMW's E34, E39, E90, etc..

6speedonline is more like E90post. It has a younger membership. More 996/7 owners and plenty of wannabees. But if you are looking for a mature forum, then Rennlist is better, imho. Lot's of PCA instructors post there, and more Porsche owners with a much longer history of ownership. Very polite and informative.

There is also a new forum called Reutterwerk. It was started by the former owner of Rennlist (which was sold to Internet Brands.) It also is more polite and mature.

As somebody already mentioned, the Pelican Parts forum is a tech forum for DIY stuff and maintenance info, etc.. Esp good if you have a pre-996 version. The company also sells parts for both P-cars and BMWs.

p.s., join the PCA. It's very active and there is a lot of mod and tech info available from them. PCA also has a racing series that you can apply for and work your way thru the ranks (like SCCA.)

It's not as bad as this site... well, maybe. A lot of GTR hate is over there (especially in the Turbo forums). Used to think that site was for car enthusiasts, but a lot of people there have shown me otherwise.

I used to be a part of Rennlist when I had my 951. It was a very good forum.

Ditto.

I up talked 6speed for awhile to friends etc. Considering the size/categories I would have to give it an edge re: less BS than here.

The more I got lost into the site the more nonsense I ran into. I stick to 997/996/993 talk which stays pretty much on the up. Scan the For Sale section and I am out.

This vs That is going to be present until the end of time I suppose.

I would think a Google search would tell you that.

If a google search told me that, then I wouldn't have needed to waste my time and place the post. Unlike you.

Rennlist for mature and knowledgeable members and very little b.s.
http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/index.php

Pelican Parts Technical BBS for the best tech info and no boy racer crap.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/

Reutterwerk Forums is the new "Rennlist" (started by John D., the guy who started Rennlist and then sold it to IB) Not a lot of traffic yet, but promising.

Depends on what you drive. 996 turbo? then 6speedonline is the one! Any other model, especially the air-cooled models, Rennlist is the one you should check out. Teamspeed is also excellent and it's more general with alot of diversity in members. Stickpaws's suggestion of Pelican is also good if you're into the older models. reutterworks is kind of dead, I joined when it first was introduced by John D. but don't see any traffic there. Granted I last checked a couple of months ago.
