Glass Cleaner

What does everyone use to clean windshield/windows? Ive been using 3M foam glass cleaner with microfiber towel but the towels seem to leave fibers all over the glass. Small enough where you cannot see until the sun is shining through, then it looks like swirls marks.

Sonar glass cleaner (applied with microfiber foam pad) and dried with CarPro glass-specialized towels. Finally found a combination that consistently works. No swirls, streaks or fibers left behind.

Meguiar's Perfect Clarity Glass Towels

I struggled with the microfiber lint too. I think these Meguiar’s towel are great and don’t have the same lint problem.

I think most people likely overdo the glass cleaner. I spray it on one side of the folded towel, clean, flip, then dry/shine.

Sometimes I use them on the hard glossy dash plastics too.

I've never had any issues with microfiber lint and I buy the cheap packs at Walmart. I use them once and either throw it away or wash in washing machine with NO fabric softener. And I never wash them with other clothes. Just the microfiber towels. Most times I use Invisible Glass cleaner with a paper towel and then polish with Microfiber towel.
My bikes all have fairings with plastic windshields and I use Plexus Plastic Cleaner with a microfiber. Does wonders on glass but expensive.

I use The Rag Rag Company Glass & Window Towel - Green (16x24) and Griot's Garage Window Cleaner. Amazing results.

I think the key is to look for lint free towels. As far as the cleaning solution, I would just make sure to get it on nothing but the class. I don't think it's good for rubber/plastics. I just use regular window cleaner, sometimes rain X.

Well first do not clean in circular motion....
Go left and right and once you clean, don't go over the same area over and over.

Glas coating also helps on this issue and sometimes cleaning with alcohol works good too.

What I do is if it is immediate after car wash I use window squeeze to get rid of water.

Had the same issue with microfiber lint. Ended up buying some glass specific towels that have worked great.

Speaking of window cleaner. What is best practice for cleaning the inside of the windshield? There has to be an easier way.

I use a lint-free microfiber foam pad to apply the glass cleaner, followed by a microfiber towel specifically designed for glass (latest one I use is from CarPro, which is more substantial than others I’ve used previously). If you’re not sure you’re completely drying the glass, use a horizontal motion inside and a vertical motion outside, so that you know whether any remaining are inside or out.

I’ve tried special triangular-shaped ‘wands’ to extend the applicator or drying towel into hard-to-reach corners, but they’re more trouble than they’re worth (short of an 8 Series rear window, I’d suppose).

Be sure to clean glass when it’s cool (never in direct sunlight).

ha! yeah ... not sure about that one, or why I'd want to disinfect my window unless I park in that orgy parking lot again which I'm NOT ever doing again!

Step 1:
Wash with rest of the car and/or use a rinseless like McKee's N-914 or ONR or P&S absolute

Step 2:
Rag Co waffle or diamond weave, 50/50 distilled/de-i water:90%IPA. This will remove road film, grease, dirt etc (waffle/diamond weave won't leave broken fibers, i.e., "lint")

Step 3:
IF needed, clay that bitch, then IPA it again

Step 4:
Use a finisher like Invisible Glass. NOTE: IG is not a great cleaner/degreaser, it's better as a finisher.
