E39 hands down. That M5 is so much fun to drive, and actually has torque.

E39 without a doubt. I still believe the E39 5xx M-Sport cars could outhandle any stock E9x 3xx cars any day of the week

Absolutely the E39. It's so much better looking than that hog you call an E60.

E60 may have the Hp, but the E39 has classic styling.

But I'm not biased or anything

I prefer the E39, but I think the OP needs to post pictures that are fair representations of it. You picked the worst possible front shot.

unless we're talking M5, E39 hands down. The E39 is one of the best late-model car designs on the planet. The E60 is meh. Id still rather drive the E60 M5 over the E39 M5, though.

Since 2/3 of the folks on this board have an E39 I expect that to be the answer.

If the question was if you could have a brand new E39 or E60 for free, which one would you take. Well..... the truth comes out.

IMO, the E39 is one of the best looking sedans ever. The V10 out of the E60 does close the gap between the two cars, but it's not enough to make me pick it over the previous 5 series.

Any higher-res shots of those pictures? Those are great wallpapers!

Used to have an E60, but I do love the E39 styling more.
