Ponder this - what if the fire started IN one of the cars - i.e. a battery fire in an EV. A VERY different insurance claim situation, no doubt, than if the ship itself had caught fire, and probably something that VWAG wouldn't want to be made public. That's a LOT of cheddar going up in smoke out there.

The vessel will be towed to a port, secured to ensure its safe enough to unload and then it'll be dismantled.

It appears burnt severely from end to end looking at it closer so if there is no salvage after inspection they may just take it with the melted cars for dismantling.

How could you have a ship dedicated to auto transport that doesn't have the same level of fire suppression that you see at a gas station - some kind of foam that would stop a fire from spreading? This isn't a boatload of Kia's after all - some of them probably had matching humidors that cost more than my M2.
