Getting ready to pick up at the PDC in a week and am planning on a ceramic coating. I've had one on a previous car and it does keep the car looking great. I appreciate the value is subjective and there are ways to accomplish similar results with more frequent waxing, but here I'm looking for positive or negative feedback on specific manufacturers of the coatings. My previous one was a GTechniq, and it's held up and looks good after 5 years, but I don't see a lot of people using it now and wonder if another manufacturer has put out a better product.

Ceramic Pro seems to be popular and I've had someone suggest Xpel's product. If you all have any feedback on specific manufacturers I'd love to hear it, thank you.

I use the whole line from Gyeon. I have the pro coating "Flash" on the paint and "RIM" on my wheels. The ceramic ability to bead water and protect the paint is truly amazing. They also have a complete line of properly formulated coating protectors / enhancers that are super easy to use at wash time. Amazing enhancement to the hydrophobicity, gloss and shine. If you get a dark colored vehicle you will see additional richness come out too.

On the interior I used "Shield" on the leather and seats. I love it. I had to keep going so I used fabric coat on the floors etc.. you get the picture. All the Gyeon products work as advertised.

You want a quick enhancer they have "Wet Coat" OMG look a the videos on it. It works as advertised along with and including their soaps "Bathe+". I use this eco system because it is all formulated to work together.

Anyway I over baby my car it seems. Full pride in the ride. I even setup a full wash station at home to make it super fast and easy not to mention a whole lot of fun.

OH PS: Sorry edited.. I also use Glassparancy on all the auto glass. Rated number one in my book by a long shot. Water, bugs and dirt fly off the glass too. If anything get the windshield kit applied... It's a pro coating as well but totally worth it. Comes with free maintenance and 3 year warranty.

I second 1Mors suggestion of Gyeon.

Mines had the full suite of Gyeon ceramic protection, paintwork, rims inside and out, plastic wheel arch liners, glass and all of the interior etc, etc (all professionally applied by a Gyeon certified detailing company) As 1mors has said, Gyeon Wet Coat is great but I rate Gyeon ceramic detailer even more, it's amazing. The Gyeon shampoos and snow foam are excellent too, I would highly recommend Garage Therapy One wheel shampoo as well.

Ceramic Detailer just not enough words its that good. You get super smooth paint when done to. Wet coat is soooo easy to use and is why I mentioned it. I am just so committed to a perfect detail every wash lol. Ya I am a nut.

ive applied Gtechiq to a g550, carpro cquartz SiC to a tahoe, kamakazi ism coat on a jeep cherokee.

when i got my X5 recently, i did a multi coat using Kamakazi myabi and kamakazi Zipang coat.

love the Kamakazi performance so far.

the G500 i had for a while and the Gtechniq did a great job over many years.

the others i got rid of too quickly.

Possibly considering a Graphene coating for the wifes new car when it comes. but want to practice on her frathers infiniti before i commit to that.

I've had Gtechiq applied to my Volvo. Will have it applied to my X5 once I get it.

Those are rated pretty good as well. on youtube you can get coating durability testing and other related coating performance videos. If you want the best performance try to stay true to the brand as they formulate everything to be compatible.

One brand might take a harsh approach or use agents that are really not compatible with other formulas. I have found this to be true with my last X5.

The Shine diminished and started to get masked. Hydrophobics went south almost immediately on existing coating and had to end up mechanically polishing the cars again and started fresh. Learned my lesson.

I'm just the same...

I'm in the UK so some products might not be available in the U.S.

I spray Autobrite citrus apc or Gyeon apc all over the car using a pump sprayer and let dwell for a few minutes, then use Gyeon snow foam over the top (sometimes I use Autobrite Magifoam) and let dwell for a few minutes before power washing off.

Then I do a 2 bucket wash with Gyeon shampoo , I've got Bathe, Bathe+ and Bathe essence or Autobrite purple velvet shampoo. I usually put some in my snow foam cannon and spray the car to give extra lubrication while doing the 2 bucket wash, then power wash again. If I can't be bothered to apply a detailing spray I use either Autobrite magiseal, ValetPRO snow seal or Autoglym polar seal, all these are spray (via a snow foam cannon) and rinse products.

I then 'sheet' the paintwork with an open hose which removes 90% of the water from the panels, I then finish off drying with my BigBoi BlowR Mini+.

For the wheels I use Autobrite citrus apc or Gyeon apc and Garage Therapy One wheel shampoo in an IK foamer pro 2 together with a Garage Therapy wheel mitt, wheel woolies and various ultra soft detailing brushes. After drying the wheels with my BigBoi BlowR I apply Gyeon tire.

I only use Gyeon products on the interior, Gyeon vinyl cleaner and Gyeon Interior detailer, which I find is excellent and you only need a couple of spritzes on a microfibre towel and of course Gyeon glass for the glass.

I'm waiting to try this product but since the review came out most UK detailing product shops have sold out.
