Hi Guys,

There are a few threads on here regarding the WeatherTech floor mats as opposed to the BMW winter ones, but I can't find much owner experience on the cargo liner for the trunk.

Has anyone here used one for their F90? Or both that can compare? Would love to know what you all think.

This is the one I'm considering:

https://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2022...spare-tire/no/

Thank you!

I have the WeatherTech cargo liner. It fits perfectly, color matches well with the carpet, and has a decent sized lip around the perimeter. If the F90 BMW cargo mat is anything like the one that I had for my F80, its only advantage is that it's made of a tackier rubber to give the contents of your trunk some slight hope of staying in place under g-load. I'm using the cargo net that came with my F80 to help hold things in place.

Yes I have the weathertech one and it fits great! Also replaced their logo with an "M" bmw logo to give it a finishing touch. Can get the replacement logo's on eBay or Amazon - very inexpensive.

Thank you so much for the input! Fit, color, lip, matching, and the ability to continue to use the cargo net/have access to the cargo net D rings to use bungee cords with were my primary concerns. I really, really appreciate your time, help, and photo!

Thank you so much! Popping on the M logo is not something I had thought of. I'm going to go this route. I really appreciate it!

I use the weather tech also. It is not as thick as the BMW one but I had one on my E90 M3 for years and had no problems and I use my car like a pickup truck sometimes. Yes, a 2x10x10 will fit in an F90. You have to cut up a 4x8 sheet of plywood, though so bring your folding sawhorses and battery circular saw to Home Depot so you can cut in the parking lot. I do keep a Harbor Freight moving blanket in the trunk to help protect the seat backs and front sears/armrest when carting bigger stuff.

Lol that's good to know! Luckily I have another vehicle more suited to those projects. However, I did get an entire small eat in kitchen dinette set into it last year when I was in a pinch! I do now have a complete seat cover that protects from the back of the back seats, including through the floor, up to the back of the front seats. I've also gotten a set of rear interior door protectors that hang over and protect the inside of the door. It took dozens of combinations of different products to get a set together that worked well. However, it's all temporary, as I'm working with a local custom shop to fabricate something clean looking that does the job of all of that in one piece. It's unfortunate BMW no longer makes an OEM seat cover that functions like a pool liner like they did for the F10.

Yes, it surprisingly thinner to me, as are the floor mats. I went with the back seat one piece one since it cover the carpeted floor (to work with the complete set up discussed above), but it's quite flimsy feeling.
When I think of a floormat or cargo mat, I am thinking of something thick enough to withstand something weighty and perhaps with sharp or pointy edges, or heavy load contact points. BMWs OEM one is actually thick enough for that. So in the end, I think I'm going with that.

Thank you for the input!

I ended up getting the WT cargo liner, I like the higher lip and I got the interior mats too.

ETA: Got it yesterday and it seems about 1/2" too big and the corners are kinking in, just disappointed and pushed the corners in to make sure it is snug.

Agree. Was quite surprised on how well it fits. Especially since it comes folded in a box which concerned me about creating a memory in the material. But not at all.

Weathertech mats all around in my F90. Very clean install, fit, and look. Functions great. Easy to clean and can still access d rings in cargo space. For a car that's more than a weekend warrior in the great rainshine state of Florida, it was a good move IMO.

I just installed Tuxmat mats all around. Have used WeatherTech several times in the past on other cars, and wanted a change:

Those look great. I just ordered a trunk Tuxmat to try. Probably should just order them all around.

I am also considering the Tuxmat trunk liner. How do you like it?

The installation process was easy, it just took a little maneuvering to get the mats into place. The coverage is exceptional, and the fit is nice and secure. They provide several clips to help the mats stay in place and I did not use one of them as the fit was perfect.

I took longer cleaning the carpets and area underneath than I took installing the mats themselves

So far I really like the look and fit. Compared to the OEM mats, things I put in the back now have a fighting chance of staying in the same place after my drive!
