Which areas aside from front should I ppf?
I’m ppf’ing the front end of my m3.
Is ppf’inf the rocker panels/side skirts necessary? What about the rear bumper area behind the rear wheels? Do rocks get kicked up there? |

I PPF’d the following
Full hood Front bumper Front fenders A pillars Side mirrors Side sills Full roof If you are keeping the gloss black side sills, I’d definitely get those protected. I got the CF m performance side sills and had those PPF’d just because of how expensive they and I wanted to make sure they were protected if the kids were to hit them with their shoes. I don’t feel like I get much impact on the rear bumper but I also have the rear winglets and I think that helps protect them slightly. One area that I regret not getting protected is the gloss black B pillars.

I did full front clip, side mirrors, rocker panels (side sills up to sill plates), and rear bumper below trunk lid (horizontal impact area below trunk opening).
I stuck with gloss black side sills, which take a beating from ingress/egress and sand/salt/stones thrown up by the front tires. The PPF is peppered ahead of the rear wheel opening after a year (and 14,000 miles), but it can be easily removed and replaced. OEM gloss plastic/carbon fiber -- not so much. |
