Camcorder. Now I regret buying it.

Main reason: 800 bucks and not enough use to warrant that kind of money...

Is a camcorder ever really worth it? What do you guys use it for besides filming your kids and um... ya know...

okay, i also have a 1k+ camcorder. and now they're selling it for like $500. i use it partly for business though, but i agree with you.

i think if i was to do it again, i'd go for a 3-400$ digital video camera with firewire output, and a good quality lens, sony or panasonic maybe (i have sony zeiss lens or whatever). You can find deals like that all the time at Fry's, etc.

If you have an HDTV and either the Sony FX1 or HC1 or HC3, you'd use it more often

Why? To record nothingness in better quality?

Let's just say your use of 'better quality' is a very crude understatement.

With that said, recording even 'nothingness' in HD is still mindblowing.

Youre right, after a while the cam is parked in the desk. More as the wheight is dull you can face a stiff resistance to take her out. And finally you can forget it in any place if you dont take also one EASTPAK, i prefer that one, to be sure you put it in lolol. Is it not ?

I hate it when you are at a party and someone sticks a camcorder in your face and says: "Come on! Just say somethin'!". Ugh. Ok, how about you go die in a fire?

I used to work at an a/v store and we had a no return policy on camcorders because people would basically "rent" them for a wedding over the weekend, and then return them on Monday with some BS excuse.

I think I could kind a see your point. Just for filming on birthdays, parties, etc, I'd probably only buy a camcorder for no more than $400.00. I don't know that much about them, but $800 seems a bit steep, but then again I'm not that into making movies.

Some things are better captured on a camcorder when you go on vacation. Then again, I spent 300 bucks, not 800 bucks on mine. They're good for capturing the "feel" of the moment, with the sound and all around environment.

I use camcorders a LOT! I just like shooting stuff. Even if you don't use it much, it's good to know that you have a quality recorder on hand.
