Self-driving 330 on Top Gear
Did anyone else see the 330i sedan on the recent episode of Top Gear? It had been driven once around their test track, allowing it to 'learn' the track via the nav system, and drive the course without any driver involvement. :eyebulge:

interesting...
in chess they keep having these comparisons between anatoly karpov and IBM Blue or some other hooked up computer. it'd be great to see a similar match with schumacher or someone versus that 330i computer too. it would force the driving algorithm writers to get better and better. |

Is the sequel to the Active Steering posts gonna be "should I get the self-driving" option posts? |

Per FinalGear, Top Gear will start their new season this summer, along with new episodes of Fifth Gear in July (in the UK of course). I don't bother with the delayed crap they air on BBC America.

Wow I remember seeing this clip a long time ago. After seeing everyone post about it I had to dig it up again. It really is hillarious.
I usually watch the episodes right as they come out (usually a few days after).

I just saw it last night and now I saw this post, it was pretty cool! This is really interesting, if your car had this option, you could drive to work once so the car could "learn the track", then the rest of the time you can have the car drive you to work! I guess the next step is for the car to "learn" the traffic haha
