Awesome video, Gene! Thanks for sharing! The F90 is probably still the holy grail for me, but the G90 is getting better and better looking to my eye.

Apologies in advance for going off topic, but having had two F90s, both base (previously, without M Sport Exhaust) and Comp (currently, with stock M Sport Exhaust), this video confirms that I’d definitely need an aftermarket exhaust on the G90. I never felt that way about the F90, and was/am totally happy with how both sounded.

When you see all the generations of M5's together, I have to admit the G90 looks fly

I like the looks odd the g90 mostly. F90 was really awesome though. Add far as g90. The thing that throws me is the overall height. Something about the overall height that hits my eyes weirdly. It’s simply too high to thick like. Can’t explain properly. Like it sort of has crossover proportions almost. Not exactly but in the direction of that. I know it’s because of the stupid batteries and that annoys me even more. The weight the height. And all this makes it look heavy. Well because it is. Ugh.

The G90 does look good, although the lines of the F90 are more classic and subtle.

Yeah, seems way too tall. The F90 CS looked real playful on its feet, the G90 you can feel the weight as it bends around corners.

Impossible choice, I'd love to have them all. The G90 looks great in the video, it's nice to see it in action.

E39 is King.
F90 is Second.

the F90 was the culmination of classic BMW styling. takes the cake for me, but that e39, wow!

(15 secs in) Too many “donuts” to do a proper donut? The M4 before it made it look so easy. 🤣

Beautiful cars all around!!

My vote is E39 or E60 - before the cars became porky and digital. I am surprised to see some of the styling cues from the E60 on the G90

There is something about the E60 for me.
With the yellow indicator running lights, it almost had a Range Rover esque presence when it slowly glided down the road…then…it turned into an absolute beast when the V10 was opened up 😈

E39
E34
F10
G90 (may need more time to judge)
F90
E60
E28

None are bad imo. E39 was the car when I was a lad. LCI model has aged well.

Interesting, I’d actually mark the E60 as the start of their “digital” age. First one with iDrive and a big screen, EDC, M mode, etc. New gongs, HUD, night vision lol. The aluminum trim made it feel like a modern, industrial design to me. This Bangle era of the 5/7 made me think of a skinny guy in a turtleneck sweater, like Steve Jobs I generally like all these things, so not a knock on it

You've raised good points. The E60 featured mechanical power steering and, aside from Drive 1.0, predated the trend of "technology for technology's sake" (not to mention the exotic V10's proper 8k redline). Observing the parade, it seemed to me that the E60 has aged more gracefully than some other designs.

I can't believe I am here defending the E60. Although I would love to own a clean example, every time I have mentioned this to my mechanic, he tells me what a terrible financial decision it would be.

I feel like all the "G" cars are fine until to put them next to an "F"...

Looks agressive and fine on its own. Heck I'm even warming up to the G80.
