Should I have been beaten by a Nissan 350z?

I was the first car at a light, in the right lane, and the Nissan was first in the left lane. I didn't even notice him at first. The light turned green and like I usually do, I took off pretty fast. That's when I noticed him trying to race. So I kept it up. We were neck and neck until we were over 100mph. At that point the road was curving and I backed down. I don't know much about that Nissan, but I was surprised it was so fast.

I dont know the exact figures off the top of my head, but I would think a 350z is faster than a 330.

Cool. So I guess I don't feel so bad for staying with him, most of the way.

it should be in the same performance ballpark

especially if it's the 300 hp 30th anniv version that's slower than the standard ones.

The 350z is only the spokesmodel for nissan. Where have you been hiding? The 350z is faster than the 3 no matter how little or how much but faster. Yes the driver makes the difference but the numbers are there.

Any car normal production car running in the 5's is pretty fast by industry standards. Compare that to all of the other cars made.

a 0-60 in the high 5's is certainly not fast for a "sports car"

high 5's aren't fast when you can buy cars that are almost 2 seconds quicker to 60 for not crazy amounts of money. (vette, 911......................)

If a reasonably priced car beats you to 60 by a larger margin than you beat an accord your car is not fast.

There are some on the list that is ok and the rest depending on your income is out of the league. High 5's are fast when you compare them to regular cars bought daily by the largest automakers. Everyday cars! I would think that the M3 or Z4 would be on this list but I don't see it. Wait the 350 is listed. Hmm...

I think we are missing the point here.

This red light racer is just looking for good feed back on his defeat on the streets....common guys he got all the way up to 100mph and backed off cause there was a curve...show him some symphaty and stop talking about the other red light racer's car.

Having owned a 2003 Pike Peak White 350Z I can concur that the Z will beat a 330i, but the Z is not a very fast car. Quick, yes, nimble, yes, nice looking, yes. But fast uhhhh, no. Now for the everyday the Z is just very impractical, one of the reasons I traded it in to get my wifes then 330i, now she has an M3. Funny enough I do miss the Z at times.

oh sorry asiann,
I didn't know rsports.com thinks the 350Z is better than the M3 and Z4

nice list though with 4 cars you can't buy new anymore and 5 cars that aren't even available yet. Most credible lists have cars you can't buy new or cars you can't even drive yet on them.

we all know the 330 isn't fast either

No, dude. I drive a stick. It was neck and neck until the curve, then I let up. Now that I know more about the 350z, I think my 330xi did pretty good.
