Working with my dealer on an order. No allocations yet but they can enter an order into their system. Not yet clear when allocations will be out.

I'm going to try to do an individual color and would be fine with a 2026 model, especially if it has a NACS connector.

I've got an order already assembled. Just waiting for my allocation...

Fully optioned with Techno Violet (individual paint) and Dark Violet/Black Merino (individual leather). The SOP for the individual interior is 3/25 but I will wait for it...

It is interesting that the Sedan and Touring configurators both show a $2,600 gas guzzler tax, but that isn’t on my vehicle inquiry report that I got from my dealer when I ordered my Touring a few months ago. If it is subject to it, ok fine. But a PHEV having a gas guzzler tax seems a little odd.

On another note, come on allocations!!

That Gas Guzzler Tax is also listed on BMWNA's G99 pricing guide PDF.

Not to be snarky, but the touring is the G99 (the sedan is the G90)...

(EDIT: So somebody changed the title of the thread and then combined them?)

Since it will be AC charging only, who cares if it's NACS or not?

Since most cars will be moving to NACS this year and Tesla chargers are more readily available, I'd rather have the standard built in rather than carrying an adapter. Sort of like USB C vs lightning.

‘Fuel’ economy isn’t efficient, hence the gas guzzler tax (GGT). Needs to be above 22.5 mpg and this one is in the teens.

I'm not sure there is a compelling reason to move the PHEVs to NACS. It's not like the supercharger network would be available.

Actually, The supercharger network ***IS*** available. You just need to filter for superchargers which include a "Magic Dock"...

These are superchargers with BOTH a NACS and a CCS adapter. Tesla started rolling them out a few months ago and there is more on the way.

You don't need any adapter if you use a Tesla Supercharger with a "Magic Dock". You can sign up with the Tesla App (even without a Tesla Vehicle) or you can pay on the spot when you charge...

In any case, these are not cars (G90/G99) that anyone will be doing enroute charging with. There isn't really much point to it...

Is this actually all the options available on the M5T? No premium sound, no buckets, no full leather? Feels like it's now showing all the options

PHEVs only have J1772, not the CCS connector or DC (Supercharger) capable.

PHEVs only make sense if you plug in everyday at home (or work), otherwise generally compromised.

Haha. I currently have a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (plug in hybrid). I mostly charge at home but when going on an overnight trip it is useful to be able to charge the battery. If most cars are going to love to NACS starting 2025, the over time most charging stations will have NACS compatible connectors.

In the end, it probably doesn’t matter much but what I heard is that once NACS is built into the BMW’s then they will be able to access most of the Tesla supercharging network.
