G99 Touring (Individual Paint & Interior) production schedule

Just an FYI for anyone who has been waiting for their Individual Interior to get approved...

My Individual Paint (Techno Violet) was approved weeks ago and we were waiting for Germany to finally start approving the Individual Interiors. My Individual Interior (Dark Violet/Black) was just approved this morning. So my order has finally gotten a formal production slot (PW12: week of March 17).

If you have been waiting for your Ind Interior to finally get approved, that should now be happening...

That's impressive, as I am ordering standard paint and interior color with the same PW of March 17th.

Where in Wisconsin are you located? I grew up in the MKE area, then spent 16 years in northern Wisconsin before moving to Cincy. I'm heading to Waukesha tomorrow.

Good to hear they are moving these along. I am not an individual order, but am the same production week.

So that production week is now confirmed? It’s not just a requested production week? I asked because my individual paint order still did not have a confirmed production week as of Wednesday.

Is your full leather individual or just a standard color but full as opposed to extended?

My production week (PW12) is confirmed via an inside source at BMW. The Ind Leather option (Dark Violet/Black) has shown up in "My Garage" but the production week has not (yet).

My source tells me that my PW should become "publicly" visible in "My Garage" in late January when the order goes into status 111.

yes, working with BMW NA to request it and as OP stated, it's now turned on internally. So if you want it, you have to have a March or later production week in order to request it.

Is there full leather in colors other than the individual colors?

there's very little info on it, so strange that BMW released a car like this without a full leather option. They also don't give you the carbon fiber steering wheel frame when you spec carbon interior despite it being on the M2/3/4.... just some real weird decisions. I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall when bmw execs were deciding this stuff lol

Watch the Throttle House review for an insiders view lol.

I'm torn with how I feel about some of these things.

I don't care for soft close doors.....just another thing that can break.

I don't care for real leather dash....materials are at risk of shrinking over time....has happened to me on other cars. I would've liked to see some more lines or stitching on the dash and tops of door panels.

I think the lack of doorsill on rear doors is cheap. Now I'll have to ppf.

A nicer stereo is appropriate.

I also dont want to pay more that 130-140k for a BMW.

I don't care about the weight, 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, etc.

I care about the overall balance of power, performance, luxury, features, and relative rarity. I think the M5 Touring delivers on that.

I was a hater of E60 when it came out. I've had an E61 m sport for 9 years now and I think it has aged really well.

I'm comfortably sticking with my decision to sell the RS6 and take delivery of the M5 Touring.

Check the pricing and ordering guides posted in the thread at the top of this forum. It specifically lists the Individual Interior Options (Dark Violet/Black & Taupe Grey/Lagoon Blue).

That information has been posted since Sept. The official ordering guides should always be your primary reference when researching options. Never rely on a Sales Advisor.

Since the ordering guide only lists "extended" coverage for all the standard options, and the individual options do not specify any coverage at all, I'm guessing any/all leather options will have the same coverage ("Extended").

The nice thing is the Pricing Guide shows the Individual Leather options as a $0 option. Not sure if that was a typo/mistake, but its the price agreed on my purchase contract! ;-)

Yes, I was told these individual leather options have the same leather coverage as the regular options. People have mistakenly called the individual options full though and added to the confusion. AFAIK, there are no full leather options on the G90 - yet.

I think the powertrain is to blame, they haven't gotten economies of scale ramped up on it so the COGS is too high and other aspects of the car had to be dialed back to compensate cause as you demonstrated the upper tolerance level of price elasticity demand ratio for them is likely ~140k before it starts to heavily shift against them, no coincidence that all their top trims stop right around there (except the 7 series which taps into a unique market).

Once this hybrid setup is in other models in their lineup they'll have more wiggle room, or even after a few years of building G90s so the LCI could be pretty juicy on this thing.

Still think they could've done better with the cuts though. Adding galvanic controls on the doorcards ($100 option on lower models), swap the illuminated speaker grill from the backseats to the front seats (or put it in both places), and offering a sensatech dashboard/upper door card/lower center console type of option would've elevated this interior a lot for a comparatively small cost to BMW and the customer imo, BUT without knowing how tight the margins are given the costly powertrain I can't say for sure, maybe this is literally the best they could do and we're all being spoiled children.

G90 ordering guide says full, G99 ordering guide does not make that distinction.

Training material for the M5 describes it as full leather and $1500 option
