Replaced Rear Reflectors - Photo

I couldn't stand the rear deflector placement, so changed them out to color match the paint. Thought I'd share what it looks like in case you are considering changing them.

I wonder if everyone should put black painted reflectors due to the placement.. it may give off a air vent look

I may leave the rear bumper reflectors red, but just change the side reflectors to body colored

Here are a few more pics of the rear side reflectors I changed. IMHO the side ones are just too big and visible.

Are you possibly foregoing some safety by eliminating the rear reflectors, potentially decreasing the odds of an approaching car’s or truck’s headlights not illuminating your G90 from behind, increasing the odds of being rear-ended?

A genuine question.

Yes, they are there because it's the law. They are intended in case your electronics fail. They aren't required in the EU. Cops likely won't pull you over for it here. I kept the originals in case I do have any issues.

Hadn’t thought of that possibility. Yes, that makes good sense.

I just had a look a moment ago at some of the G90s delivered in Europe (e.g. the Macadamia Brown). It appears that the European delivery M5s also have the rear reflectors.

How did you get them out? I always swap these out too but never had trouble getting them out. These are stubborn!

Yeah, about that. I couldn't get them out. I eventually threw in the towel and brought it to the guy who put on my winter tires. It ended up taking him a bit of time. Hour worth of labor.

They rear red ones absolutely are required in the EU.

It’s the amber ones on the sides we get to omit.

Good idea! For the F90 there were replacements with a Hexacon patern, hope to get these on the G90.

Usually you can pop these out with fishing line and pull them out. Not this time. I ended up hammering a screw driver thru them and pulled them out with pliers. Not ideal but it worked.
