2011 Audi s5...
Will have supercharged v6 3.0. Also Audi states they will reduce the weight of the s5. Do you think they will be able to out perform the 335i?

Maybe but BMW probably will have an answer on that in 2011

I wish BMW would come out with a lighter weight 335. Take out most of the luxury items and give us the BMW performance seats, lighter sound deadening material, some aluminum body panels (or carbon fiber), light weight wheels and a more track oriented suspension. Make the car around 3200lbs and it'll get better fuel mileage due to lower weight and it'll perform better due to loosing 300lbs without having to add HP.
The S5 is still great looking. I just wish they would make it RWD to start with instead of starting essentially as a FWD car and making it AWD. This would really reduce weight for them.

Audi needs to lose weight / improve weight distribution if the S5 is going to compete with the 335

Well that is exactly how the new S4 behaves when combined with SportsDiff so I would hazard a guess and say when the S5 gets the new 3.0 engine and SportsDiff as well as DSG you should seriously book yourself a test drive. |
