Physciatrist Help!!!
Hello recently I miss my physiciatrist appointment last thursday because I forgot the date since it has been like 1 month and was really busy doing activity. Will, today I recieved the letter from physiciatrist saying that I have to pay $150 because I didn't show up for the session which in this case the insurance company doesn't cover shit. I was like WTF  $150 right out of my pocket for not showing up. I just want to know if anyone in here go to see physiciatrist for any reason. If so, Do you ever miss the appointment on the day you were suppose to go because you forgot it or for any other reason? I really dont want to pay 150 which seem like hell since I'm only 18 and I dont have full time job that pays good. Also my parent are not helping me out with this. I have a appointment next Thursday and hopefully I can just give him good reason and bag him so I dont have to pay the penalty fee right out of my pocket. Please let me know how I can resolve this situation. Thanks guys

Did you sign any type of contract or agreement that says you will pay even if you miss your appointment? If you didn't, it should be pretty easy to get out of it. If you did you pretty much f-ed. Good luck!

Tell them you missed the appointment because you are crazy. It gets people out of jail so it should work in your case too.

It is customary for a patient to pay for an un-kept appointment with their therapist, especially when it’s "no-call no-show."
Take responsibility for your actions and pay the $150. |

Well, they reserved an appointment slot for you. You did not show or even call...meaning, that the therapist lost income because you forgot. Pay the $150 or find yourself a new therapist. I am sure they would not be bothered to lose a patient that no shows, and then complains about paying for their own mistakes.

lol thats so stupid, i understand it if it were the doctors, or dentist, etc, since u did take up valuable time, but in a psychiatrist, he is treating you for problems in life, and if u miss it, he gives u more depression and pissed u off with a 150$ bill lol....i think u should switch therapists

If you had Kaiser Permanente(I work in psychiatry)you would not have that problem. No charge for no-shows.....just gives us more time to do our paperwork.
