Someone got my door at the Post Office
Sorry, it was in my Nissan again, not the 335, but still observations on how people behave. Dense population does it I guess.....
A lady saw me in the car, and still hit my passenger door. So I confronted her on her way back. She told me: What country am I from (born in the good ol' USA) Get some education (post Doctorate) Maybe I'll scratch your door as I leave (already got your plate, be my guest) And we thought our grandparents didn't know what they were talking about when they had concerns about the way society was going? LOL This is why the 335 is in the garage when I know I'm not going to be able to park it away.... |

I think the person just wasn't going to own up, so probably she says the same thing to everyone. She, by the way, had an accent, and was late 50's or early 60's. I didn't get the country stuff either, maybe my ancestors colonized her people or something? No clue....

You just let her go? You could have made an issue out of it if you really felt like it. I had this happen to me once, but the lady apologized profusely. She got her wallet out and was getting ready to hand me whatever cash she had. I just told her to be more careful in the future and moved on. Unfortunately door dings are a part of life. I just park as far away as I can when I can. I know in some places, like the post office parking lot, there's not always a spot far from everyone.

At least you had a chance to confront your doordinger; I discovered a door ding on the passenger side after I came out of the movie theater -- and noticed the car that was parked next to me was already gone.

People are douchebags. You almost need a car you don't care about to take to public parking lots. I parked somewhat out of the way at Costco last night, not as far out as I usually park but it was late and the lot was fairly clear... came back out to find some dickweed in a massive 4-door pickup had parked right on top of me, surrounded by empty spots. I couldn't find any dings/scratches but I was still pissed.
That the E9x doesn't have any anti-ding strips, doesn't help. The side of our cars is like a canvas begging jackholes to leave their mark.

Actually, a good idea - someone should start making and selling "dog poop" tubes, like those with toothpaste. Could be rather handy in situations like this.

Yeah. Really missed that on my E46. After a while I didn't even notice them. But they do come in handy. Especially when parking next to a Honda Civic in a tiny garage

You know, when I first read the title for this thread, I thought someone stole the OP's door at the PO
Or that someone stole his wheels from the post office LOL.
