Anyone know the approximate amount to fix a broken key fob slot? Looked at previous posts about this but no one advised of the repair cost.

Last night my wife went to dinner and the valet pulled the key out without pushing it in first which broke the slot. The key does not stay in place and now the charge battery light stays on. I'm taking it in to the dealer tonight but was hoping I could get a rough estimate on the cost to fix.

have you spoke to the dealership first? How does the slot look like now? maybe they will do it out of good will. IDK, im not a fan of just showing up to the service area w/o calling ahead first.

For the pricing, i guess you can look at realoem for parts related to the ignition. parts are usually 1/3 of what they charge. if 500 in parts, then expect around 1500 for repairs

Yup, called them but they said they could not give a rough estimate without seeing it. I said ballpark it for me, but he said he couldn't.

Thought I'd give everyone an update. It costs roughly $290 to have that slot replaced. Valet company is paying for it...supposedly. Still waiting for the check.
