i could've gotten an '10 e90 335i with sports and auto as only options for 3k more than my Evo but decided to try something that's always intriguing me. i guess i'm having a mid-life crisis. i experienced two things i've never experienced before driving BMWs and Audis: 1. i was having so much fun driving the car home yesterday from dealership i missed not one but TWO freeway interchanges, 2. on that same trip, i've gotten thumbs ups on freeway by two S2000, a GTR and an E90 M3 owners.

It's a type of Mitsubishi Lancer... called the Evolution.

It's funny what a 2-second google search will turn up.

Can you post comments? I'm very interested in this the MR Touring as a DD but not completely convinced it's worth 40k. I'd love to hear about it from the perspective of an e60 guy

I used to have Evo VIII then Evo IX MR. They are definitely fun cars. You definitely get a lot more people interested in the car, both good (fellow enthusiasts) and bad (popo and theives). Good luck with the car, and have fun! They, like the 335, can have big power gains with just a tune.

I was close to getting an EVO X before I decided on the M3. Enjoyed the testdrive immensely.

well, off to a bad start. front windshield got hit by some sharp object on the freeway yesterday, there's a crack two feet long. already ordered the replacement windshield thru dealership, waiting to install. thank god insurance company is paying for that. talking about withdraw syndrome. one day i was driving a brand new Evo, next, my parents' honda pilot.

I want an EVO too, but I just can't get over the cheap interior. I think I am getting too old.

Drove a lot of these and almost bought the exact car you did. LOVE the close steering ratio, suspension geometry, handling etc. Could not deal with the turbo lag, the fact the car weighs as much as an M1 Abrahms and the interior leaves a lot to be desired. Ya gotta be happy when you drop $40K and I was already unhappy with some pretty major, unchangable things.

BUT, it's a heck of a fun car to drive. A better offering than the latest STi's for sure. Subaru's making some changes that will fix that for 2011 though.
