Advice for Paint/Interior Color Combinations

Hi, I just registered for the forums and this is my first post.

I've decided to go with a 2010 328i sedan and my search has come down to these final two configurations:

Monaco Blue with Black Dakota leather and Dark Burl trim

VS.

Blue Water Metallic with Grey Dakota leather and Aluminum trim

And since this will be my first BMW, I just wanted to ask for any advice, suggestions, comments.

I've never had black interior before, does it really get as hot (esp. in Los Angeles area) as people say they do?

My previous car had aluminum trim and after a few years, a lot of the surface was covered with scratches, can anyone tell me any personal experiences with aluminum trims in BMW's (esp. with respect to durability)?

I'd appreciate any input, thanks!

I have a black interior and it got very hot inland and it is more difficult and takes longer to cool down, but now that I live near the Bay in the SF Bay area, it is fine (no bare legs on it in real warm weather though, ouch). I would go with the Grey if you are well inland, but black would be ok closer to the coast...have you looked at the Anthracite wood option? Aluminum does show scratches.

Thanks.

I think I've decided on the Monaco Blue/Black combo.

I has an E46 330xi Blue Orient (very similar to Monaco Blue) on black. I liked it a lot.

The monaco blue looks better on the exterior (in the drawings) but that interior is nice if you have over 50 years of age. Otherwise choose aluminium trim...

Maybe it's what you want, but Blue Water just seems too pastel and seems rather effemenate - to me anyway.
