The Pres of MINI USA Challenges Porsche to a race!
As baffling as this sounds, the President of MINI USA has challenged Porsche in a race around Road Atlanta! And not against the Boxster or the Cayman, they have challenged the mighty Porsche 911. This is great, I love stuff like this. Even if MINI doesnt win, they still had the balls to do it in the first place, and for that, props.
They will be broadcasting a live video on their Facebook page of the event on June 21st. Porsche has yet to respond, but the track is right around the corner from Porsche's NA headquarters, so it won't be like they wouldn't have a car available, haha. We'll see what happens, but I definitely want to see this race go on. More info: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/08/m...lanta-w-video/ |

Interesting marketing and publicity idea. I wonder who the ad agency is? The race itself is totally irrelevant, but the campaign might win with more sales and exposure.

That's why of your Porsche you want to hijack the story line in some way that Mini didn't anticipate. Then watch how fast Mini drops the whole thing.

Funny, he mention Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona, but didnt once mention the one race Porsche has dominated for the last 3 years. Its funny, that he didnt mention the 24hr of Nurburgring race |
