Thumbs up Used Nissan GTR Prices About To Take A Steep Drop

with major improvements in the 2012 nissan gtr, i forsee a very big price drop in used gtr market ontop of the current depreciation. might be the time to hop in one of these bad boys being the best bang for the buck car .

http://www.gtrblog.com/2010/08/29/20...irmed-details/

^ and thats not all of the changes, more to come...

I doubt there will be too big of a drop. The 09s have settled in at the mid to low 60s and are selling very quickly. Falling from the high 70's - mid 80's (depending on if you bought before or after the price hike) down to the 60s is already a bit of a drop. There's still a lot of demand and not a huge supply of cars.

I've heard that maintenance on this thing is insane. I've been in one and it was impressive, I just don't like the idea of a car having a feature on it that voids the warranty if you use it. It made my Porsche seem like a Civic though.

The revised LC programming has fixed all of that, anyhow.

Those are some pretty big changes, it might feel like a whole different car! I'd probably just retro fit the brakes and aero onto an '09 to save some cash. But this 2012 GTR is looking promising. Hope you can still chip it

the changes to the front suspension, chassis updates, areo modifications and even RWD mode are going to completely change the feel of the car.

If you want a GTR I would hold out a few years and get a 2012 when you can.

^ BINGO. the RWD mode is what is the selling point to the car and will surely affect the used gtr market.

im gonna wait and see what happens and see if i can hop in one .

i can't even imagine that, do you know if it will be 100% rwd mode?

Yep, last I heard if you used it more than 3 times or something like that it would void the warranty. It was just destroying transmissions and Nissana's response was to void the warranty.

If they have revised that then I'd be more inclined to get one, but still maintaining one would be hell from what I have heard.

Last time I was at the BMW dealer I saw that they had nitrogen for the tires, that has got to be a gimmic of some sort, right? I guess I don't have a strong enough grasp on chemical properties to understand why 35psi of one gas in my tire is different from 35psi of another. Someone feel free to aware me.

...??? do you understand the entire appeal of nitrogen tires, etc? You're not going to be constantly filling these, they don't 'leak' like typical compressed air.

Chest

refer to NYC's post above... it's a little overrated, but still something generally worth doing, depending on how you view things.

Comfortable for sure, never had any rliability issues with the Porsche, but I will saywhen I got the bill for the first oil change I nearly shit my pantaloons. Coming out of a Scion Tc a $200+ oils change was a little hard to wrap my brain around.

Don't believe so. When tires are filled with nitrogen they normally put the lil blue valve stem caps on em.
