I live in NOVA too. If I saw you coming out of your car with a bmw hat on I would think you were a huge tool. I wouldn't wear it.

Nope. Unless you are at a car event, then maybe it might be ok, but other than that no. I saw a guy get out of a C-Class wearing a MB polo shirt and he looked like a giant asshole.

I agree with the tool comments. Plus whenever I see someone wearing a hat like that, I think of the images of people in third world countries wearing obvious knock-off tees with huge logos of high end luxury brands like Prada and Armani on the front.

Some older guy at my gym had a BMW hat that he worked out in. Dressed pretty crappy. Talked to him once, drove an 02' 5 series. Just a general enthusiast. Kinda looked like a d-bag but he was a nice guy. I think you'd look like more of a Dbag getting out of a current generation BMW than getting out of an older BMW. Unless you have a little "gangster" look going on and you're driving a 10+yr old used to be luxury car thinking your hot. Sorry dude, your 1999 S600 is shittier than my room mates Civic si.

I'd never wear one but I always make it a point to talk to someone I cross that's wearing one lol, even if the hat's got four rings or a star on it.

It's a hat. If you want to wear it, wear it. If people want to judge you for it, or judge me for it if I choose to wear it, they're probably too shallow for me to care about their opinions anyway. Seriously, if we form out entire opinions of people based on their choice of hats, it the judges that have the character flaw, not the dude who chose to wear a logo'd hat.

I've always debated which is worse:
– the guy who gets out of his Ferrari wearing a Ferrari hat or shirt – the guy who wears a Ferrari hat but has never driven/been in one... let alone owned one.

I wear a Ducati tee once in a while to the gym because I cheer for them in MotoGP even though I don't have the balls to drive one on the street (losing a few family members on bikes kinda scarred me)

A hat isn't the difference between a douchy BMW owner and respectable one. If you don't like wearing the hat, don't wear it - clothing should be appropriate and comfortable, and while appropriate, you're clearly not comfortable with it.

What if he is a fan of the Ferrari F1 team? No different than someone wearing a shirt with sports team on it. |
