There's no denying those numbers.

I use to be able to justify the purchase of my Z4M on refinement, and build quality. I no longer believe it makes up for the ever increasing gap in performance. The C6Z06 is class all of it's own.

I put them on 19/20 HRE 540's and it was transformed. The car was very stable and eager to go into a corner with NO snap oversteer. MUCH more quiet and much easier to launch. I can only imagine what it would feel like with the MPSC.
Did you go from the Z4M to the C6Z06?

jesus those handling numbers are fantastic. That test track looks to be at altitude so i'm not surprised to see the straight line numbers down from what that car can do.

This was my 2006 Z06 (1LZ) I had a couple years ago. I only ended up with a little more than 6K miles so I never got to switch out tires for non-runcraps. I would have gone to PS2s as well.

I had a Corsa exhaust (my god the noise!), Callaway shifter and honker intake.
It's pretty cool how you can lower the cars just by tightening a few bolts.

I miss it. Very easy to steer the car with the throttle.

I knew the Pilot Sport Cups would boggle the mind when it comes to handling numbers. GM also offers the Sport Cups as an option on the ZR1.

A large part of this new Corvette package is the new zero pressure PSCup tires.

So far, they are exclusive to Corvettes. And I'm jealous.

Here is an article.

These PScup ZP tires are amazing.

Ridiculous performance from the 2012s! I still love my 07 though.

Amazing performance vehicle, 2012 Z06 with those tires ran a 7:22 at the Nurgburgring, one of the fastest times ever for a street car. That combined with the fact that it runs an 11.6 in the 1/4 in stock trim makes it a great vehicle. If it was only more comfortable, didn't get bad gas mileage and was a better DD, I wouldn't hesitate to get one of these for a second...

Actually the C6 is pretty comfy inside. The wife and I take long week end trips in mine and go for hours in comfort. Could the interior be better? Of course, but its really not that bad.
Mileage? I cant think of another engine made by anyone who makes that kind of hp/tq #'s a LS7 gets w/o getting a gas guzzler tax stamp. The fuel efficiency of the LS series engines is phenominally good compared to others.

I am sure the MPG figures vary from driver to driver and driving habits. The comfort is questionable, I've driven a C6, a C6 Z06 and I've been lucky enough to ride in a C6 ZR1, none of those are particularly great daily drivers, each of the people that owned these cars also had luxury cars in their stable. For someone like me; to come from a luxury car like a BMW and replace for it a Z06 as a dd would be tough. It's a fantastic vehicle but I couldn't give up the DD qualities for the performance.

What?? Thats exactly what its good at even though its a pure performance car. The question is can you truly handle 505hp.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes. There's nothing wrong with his opinion that it wouldn't be a good daily driver for him.

He's already admitted it's a fantastic car, but just not a DD for him.

Did I drive mine daily? Absolutely. Could I drive an Ariel Atom on a daily basis? Absolutely. Just because I can drive an Atom daily doesn't mean everyone here will be able to.

In the end, the Z06 with this package is a phenominal car.

Mileage varies for every car depending on individual driver habits. Going by EPA ratings the Corvette is damn near at the top in high performance mileage figures.

The fact that many dont use a Corvette as a DD isnt surprising really. I for one use it as a week end toy for several reasons, 1- on occasion I need the additional rear seating 2- I dont drive a 600hp RWD light weight, low slug sports car in winter snow blizzards. 3-I sometimes need to throw all kind of undesireable crap in the trunk of a car.
That said, I know many owners(in warmer climes) that do use a C6 as a DD.
But I understand your position as I feel the same way against having a 2 seat SC as a DD.

Im really leaning towards a vette for my next car so long as they dont fuck up the C7. For those that drove both the c6 base and the zo6, is the zo6 worth the extra buck for the extra ponies? I love the concept of the zo6 and the engine but i'm affraid I'll miss a hole in my roof. The vette will not be a daily driver but a weekend car only and will never be tracked. Thanks.

Essentially two different cars... Yes, very worth it.
