What is the longest you've ever owned a BMW?
It seems as though as much as we love our cars, BMW owners tend to trade/swap them out rather quickly--myself included. Maybe it's because of the high cost of maintenance, but I seldom ever meet other BMW owners who keep their cars beyond 5 years. Thus, I'm curious: what is the longest you've owned a BMW?

I had a 325 for two years now the z4 for 1.5 so far and I don't see myself letting go soon.
My dad had a 80's 525 for over ten years. Sold it on a flatbed with some underbody pieces rusting off. I don't think they are that expensive to maintain if you know where to locate parts and have a trustworthy mechanic. |

This is my first BMW. So far, it's been 2-1/2 years since I bought it. I want to keep it longer, but there is a slim chance that we may trade it in for something else in 2014.

I have had my X6 for almost 4 years now and I still love looking at it, and driving it of course.
I do love my car, but I do plan on trading up by 2014... but that is only because when I placed my order for the X6, they did not have the ///M version at the time... I think if I had the ///M model of my car, I would not be contemplating a trade up after only 3+ years

I had a 2006 X3 that I owned for 4 years, which is longer than any other vehicle I have owned. I sold it two days ago. The only thing to ever go on it was the windshield washer pump and a wheel bearing.
Solid reliable car. Going to miss it. |

If my Backdraft Cobra Replica counts as an E36, then that is the longest I have had a BMW (6 years). Someone will have to pry my dead cold fingers off of it before I let it go.

2 days lol. It's my first BMW, 135i. My parents have owned a couple BMWs. Dad owns a 2010 M3 for about a little over a year now, and we had a 2009(?) BMW 328i before that.
