mark yours was right on the cusp of my votes, just wish the angle on the gordons fisherman was a little bit more level instead of looking up at him.

i really feel like it's hard to deny that who submitted the photo plays a role in who gets votes. it was essentially determined who was going to win this contest before it even started.

What? You mean the leading photo isn't worthy of its votes? I think it's a spectacular shot in every respect and it fits the theme to a tee. I think there at least four and maybe five images here that are equally worthy, and I voted for them. That's how these things work. I couldn't care less who submits what. If I like the image, I vote for it. Names mean nothing.

Why does this bother you so much? What about remmib makes you think it was foreordained?

mike, your photo is magma-money, man. if the bottom was cropped a little higher to just show treetops without all the black, i'd hang that one above my fireplace. if i had a fireplace.

Personally, I'd have to agree with Josh a little bit. It's hard not to be biased when the photos aren't anonymized. I'm not saying people voted for remmib because he's well-liked, gave us $100 krone each, etc.
But, I'm sure some people here have voted for/against people they like/dislike in the past. It's human nature. Fortunately, enough people vote to hopefully not skew the end results. I do believe remmib is well-deserving of the win (assuming he wins), since his photo is awesome and fits the theme perfectly. That being said, the only way to get around this, is the organizer of the contest can receive submissions only via PM, and then anonymously post the submissions in the submission and voting threads. Once voting is complete, he/she can announce the winner of the contest. What do you guys think? I know some people have maxed out their PM quota... hehe.
