Camera help
I figured this would be a good place to ask since there are quite a few excellent photographers on the forum. I am looking at getting my father a camera for his birthday, he is a little more evolved than just your point and shoot photographer. He still uses an old 35mm on occasion. We bought him a 5 MP Canon Powershot, but he still goes back to the 35mm. I wanted to get him something along the line of a 35mm but it be digital. I was thinking about something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16830120031 but don’t really know what im looking for. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Cool, now the body is in black! That is a great camera body, since there are SO many lenses you can get that will fit it. I bought the silver version for my wife's birthday with the HOPE that I would get to use it. I got to take pictures of her and the family at Disneyland the first weekend, but she's nearly filled the 8MB SD card with 500 pictures, and I haven't got to take any more ;( She really has no prior experience and has been able to take really great pictures.

I have the Rebel xti and I love it. The xti is 10.1 mega pixel vs the 8 mega pixel of the xt. I would look for a package deal with an upgraded lens. I recommend the 17-85mm image stabilizer lens...

If your looking at the Canon digital rebel xt, might as well spring for the XTI. The larger screen alone is already well worth the extra price.
Other DSLR's you could consider are Canon Digital Rebel XTI Nikon D40 Sony A100 |
