Incident with McDonald's
Just sharing a story and perhaps you guys can chime in on what I should do next. Let me be clear that I'm not out to make money or even get a refund. I just want them to maybe check their quality.
About 6 months ago i had some chicken mcbites at mickey d's. It was around 6 PM. About 15 mins later i felt itchy and basically developed hives later. I have never, ever had any kind of allergic reaction to anything. So the hives lasted a for about a week. I couldnt go to school or work. I ended up taking benadryl and it helped. I thought it was just a one time incident so whatever. Tonight, I got some food from the same location. The burger i had was so greasy, had no taste, and overall just made me feel sick. I couldnt finish it. Mind you i eat fast food here and there (maybe a few times a week) so i'm not a stranger to fast food. Anyhow, my girlfriend had a cheeseburger and 5 minutes after eating it she felt sick and threw up. She ended up missing class. I was there with her so I got kind of pissed off because it wasnt the first time. Went back and had a conversation with the manager. It was interrupted here and there because a few customers came and went. So i was talking to her and i was calm. Then she came to me and said "im busy what do u need?" She couldnt even look at me straight and kept shifting her eyes around. Maybe they didnt take me seriously cus i was dressed bummy and had a hat on. Anyhow, she told me to come back and talk to the store manager tomorrow. I just want them to check their shit so other people dont get sick. Is that fair? |

You won't be able to make any money off this anyway, but if you don't get a satisfactory response from the manager, you could write a letter or call McDonalds corporate HQ. You could also contact your local board of health or whoever certifies restaurants in your area.

Yeah I didnt think of making money off it even if I could. It was just weird that this wasnt our first incident. I didnt like that I had hives for about a week and missed school and work. Then earlier today my gf had to skip class because she threw up shortly after eating their food. And the attitude the manager gave me just pissed me off too. They need to check their shit because McDonald's quality and service should be consistent through out.

This. Find out which Cali government agency is responsible for restaurant inspections (it might be local, versus state), and you should be able to find out their inspection score(s). Some municipalities require the inspection results to be posted. This restaurant sounds bad from your description, and if they have poor inspection scores, having that info before you contact McDonalds corporate will give you much more credibility in your conversation with them.

Call the health dept. County or state. Around here it is county that does rest. inspections.

Find out if it is a company owned (McOpCo) store or by a Franchise. If McOpCo, call corporate, if it's a franchise store, calling corporate won't do anything. They should have their health inspection score posted. The store mgr should be accomodating since you are just voicing a concern.
Some owner/operators are better than others. And the media won't do anything unless there is a mass outbreak of sickness - a one off or 2-off incident doesn't mean anything.

Haven't eaten at McD's since '94 and don't miss it.
I doubt there is much you can do. Unless more people are complaining, the store/franchise manager probably won't move on it. As others already mentioned, you can report it to the local health board and/or inspector's office but without a fair number or reports, I doubt they will move on it either since they won't see a trend. Report it and stop eating there is what I would say.

for a while, fast food people were screwing with me A LOT: making me repeat myself, "accidentally" changing my order, short changing me... that's kinda gone away. i think because i started recording stuff, taking names, filing complaints online, calling people out on the spot. i didn't ask for a friend: just do your job and make your min wage! |

I only go there on occasions. I was in the area and wanted to grab something quick for both of us before class. I didnt think it was going to turn out that bad. Yuck...

This shows very poorly on the Company's quality control standards. Although, it's an across the board sort of thing... not all BMW dealers are the same either. I've dealt with some that if I was corporate I would take away their license while others were award winning. Not establishing a set of standards or rules for every location to follow on all issues shows very poorly on the company.

One time I ordered a 5pc Chicken Selects, Pulled up and they said it will be 10 min extra for it. I waited, got them, ate one on the way out and OMG they were straight up RAW. Only the breading was cooked and crispy.
I took it into the manager and they threw all these free coupons at me and then the owner of that branch came in to apologize as well, they gave my their info incase I got sick. sorry for grammar/punctuation, on the iPhone making brownies.

Got sick from McDonald's 15 years ago, and haven't had a burger there since then. If you got hives, why on earth would you go back?
