Pigeons on my balcony

I got pigeons who come and sleep on my balcony. I have washed it with bleach every weekend and I am getting tired of these guys. I think it's the same couple of birds too.

Any of you guys recommend a pigeon control device besides the barbed spikes? Do owl scarecrows work?

Thanks.

put rice or alkeseltzer out there, rather cruel tech. but they won't be back, however you might have a little clean up required at first, i.e. dead pigeons. I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS, just mearly suggested. lol...try to convince y'all that i don't enjoy hurting animals. I have a boxer if it makes you feel better who gets spoiled worse than most.

if you dont mind possibly killing one or two, string up some fishing line

one or two might die from it, but after a few hit the line they will convey that to there buddies, and thell stop coming, great thing is bird are weird, even new bird will see that other birds avoid the area and will avoid it themselves without even knowing why

most animals are like that actually, it only takes beings with "higher" thought processes like humans to be dumb enough to go near shit other people avoid

its a very common method to keep bird off piers

Guys, I need a way to stop them from coming without being cruel. I don't hate them for who they are.

Any ideas without blood shead?

yes, a bb or airsoft might even do it, or just put rice all over the balcony and watch them die due to their stomachs exploding, thats always fun....or you could put poison....

My son-in-law had the same problem. He just put up some plastic screening so the pigeons couldn't get to his patio. Worked very well, and only cost him around $20.

My neighbors have fish nets but it's gonna cost more then 20 bucks I think. I have a large balcony and it bends like a "V" wider angle though. I hate the look of the nets though.

How effective this is depends on what CDs you hang outside ...

I hear Paris Hilton's album works well
