ios 7 sucks
Anyone else feel the same way? It's terrible. the logic is horrible. It lost the simplicity and logic that made apple superior. Very pissed off.

Seems you may be in the minority.
Some people have had specific problems on their particular device. Maybe take it to apple for some help? i had a friend who was having problems and apple gave her instructions on how to do some reset stuff and everything is working well now.

I'm with OP, it does remove some simplicity that Apple is known for.
The iOS7 is inconsistent. For example. In pre iOS7, if you wanted to create a new item (message, email, reminder, Notes etc). You'd simply touch the "+" plus button on the top right. In iOS7 it's all over the place, for messages and email, you have the pen & paper icon if you want to create new message/email. In notes, it has the text "New" that you touch to create a new note. In reminder, it has absolutely nothing.. WTF? you have to double tap an empty line to create a new reminder.... (i have iPhone4s)

Calendare sucks a little bit, but that's about it for me.
I love the auto updates! Seeing all those pending app updates on ios 6 drove me nuts. |

If what you are saying it true, I would have to agree, if they are no longer being consistent this is an issue. This is what apple was famous for finding the most optimal way of doing something and making it consistent across the board, It make using it easy and when you in an unfamiliar program there will be a level of familiarity which allows you to learn it quickly. This has nothing to do with age as some people would like to believe. It about rote learning, building on what you already know and it repetitive so you can do things without thinking about it. |

When Apple first released iPhone back in 07', it was a totally radically OS design. Yes, touch screens were already around for a long time, but this was one of the first consumer based OS for the mass market. They had to add skeuomorphic design since people NEEDED to learn how to use it. Therefore, buttons had to be designed to look like buttons, sliders needed to have knobs that looked like sliders, etc. They did this in the very beginning with the first Macintosh and still currently do it with Mac OSX (that will change soon though). It has been 6 years since the first iPhone, so I believe Apple felt as if we didn't need that anymore. Nearly everyone with a smartphone understands the basics of using a touchscreen. With Jony Ive becoming head of design, he had the liberty to freely design a cleaner, simpler UI that had less distractions. Buttons can be replaced by simpler text, unnecessary design elements could be eliminated. That being said, I'm a fan of the redesign, but it has a LONG way to go before it can be considered a stable well loved OS. It took 6 years of updates for iOS 6 to be developed; Apple surely needs more time for iOS 7 to even get to where iOS 6 had become. And quite honestly, iOS 7 isn't that much different to the original iOS. It has the same basic design layout (icons, sliding pages) and is far less drastic of a difference than Windows phone which I find most innovative. iOS 7 is a new skin over the original design. with upcoming fixes, it'll surely become more stabilized.

Example of why ios7 sucks. Before if I was on the phone with a client, and needed to give them the phone # for someone in my contacts, I'd put them on speaker, and flip through my contacts. Now, can't do that. Won't allow access to contacts while on a call. WTF is up with that.
The calander is not as intuitive as before IMO. The camera functions were better before IMO. I'm a simplist. And love things that are logically detailed. This is a half baked idea from some nerds that need a job.

I hate it too, but I think most of my problem is that my 4s can't handle it.
I was attempting to delete voicemail messages yesterday and swiping it left to get the delete to appear. Pressing delete resulted in Facetime audio calling the person. So that's really helpful... |
