Rant - Bare feet on the dash
Now, I like feet, maybe more than the next guy. But WHY do so many people, people who would never find themselves sitting in that particular fashion at any other place in the world, suddenly decide to take their shoes off and put them up on the dash???!!!!!!!!
I'm not talking the freak driver who must be practicing for Circ and drives with one foot on the dash (although that freaks me out in a different way). I'm talking the passenger who reclines in a fashion they have never done at home, then puts their bare foot/feet up on the window. I see this all the time. No one has ever done it in my car, but I see it almost every day. Are they tanning their normally fragile toes? Is this some form of yoga for car riding that I've missed? |

The thought of a hot woman lounging on the couch and rubbing her feet into my back - H O T
Same woman putting her feet up on the dash in the car next to me, I just want to understand the why. |

Fortunately I have never had anyone do that. The closest it came to was an ex resting her feet on the window sill once. I don't know why people do that either because it is disgusting. I wouldn't do that in someone else's car so I expect people not to do it in mine.

I like when my girlfriend puts her feet on my dash.
Then when I get in her car and rip ass and eat food, I have an argument. not sure why, but she doesn't do it anymore. |

Happens all the time. Always women. My wife, my wife's friends, etc. I think women like showing off their pedicures or something. I've never had a guy do it in any of my vehicles.

Not really understanding the rage/frustration...
How does someone putting their feet on the dash of their (or their husband, spouse, boyfriend, etc) car have any impact on your life at all? I'd understand if it was your car and you didn't like it, or you were looking out for a friend's safety, but really, who cares if it's a total stranger? Leave it up to natural selection IMO...

There's something that makes people think that a nice car is something to slam the doors, blast the speakers and lay around on like a chaise lounge. I never had this problem with a Suburu Legacy or GTI, but at least 30% of the time my passenger removes their shoes and reclines the seat in the BMW. And sometimes they ask to put their feet up. When I still drove a convertible there was nothing that they wanted to do more, it's almost pathological.

I made my ex pay for dinner (or drinks can't remember) because she put her feet with flip flops on my woodgrain after just getting in the car from the beach. She quickly realized what she did, and it took a LOT for me to actually drive my car to the beach.

Templar, I'm just trying to understand WHY. As mentioned, I doubt people sit in that position at home. I can't see it as being comfortable. And a lot of people here mind other peoples' car business, so I thought maybe I could find out. Nothing too serious, I just wanted to learn before I meet St. Peter so I can save one of my questions.

Your wife's friends do that in your car or just in general? They've got some nerve if they're putting their feet up on the dash in your car

this is exactly why I don't take my car to the beach unless im coming back by myself. My GF is a sand magnet, even after showering she still gets our bed covered in sand.
