My new clothing line: Cakes & Weights

Fellas,

I've been working on a new brand for the past 2 months. The name of it is Cakes & Weights and its for people who live a balanced lifestyle between the gym and the occasional sweet stuff. Lots of time and money have been spent to make the brand what it is. We're currently working on the second launch which will include 3 new designs, tank tops for guys and some sweet mesh hats.

Anyhow, here's the site: Cakes & Weights | Athletic Shirts for a Balanced Lifestyle

we're also on the old FB: www.facebook.com/cakesandweights

and Instagram/twitter: cakesandweights

I look forward to any feedback, whether its positive or negative.

Thanks!

So your target consumer is a fat person who claims to go to the gym?

key words here are 'balanced' and 'occasional'. The brand is about how to maintain the balance between eating right and working out, but not deprive yourself of life's gifts, like cake and beer.

However, if a 'fat' gym-goer wants to support the brand, I wont complain.

I love working out, but I feel my cake eating doesn't exactly equal my workout habits.

I knew I wasn't the only one that takes my apple strudel to the gym with me instead of protein bars.

Good effort and best of luck with your business.

I'm not a cake person, but I do enjoy pie. Crème brulee, chocolate mousse and tarte tatin are also amongst my favorites. Do you have anything for that? Or is it just for people who eat cakes?

'Cakes' is a general classification of all things that you'd consider a 'cheat' outside of your normal diet. Perhaps yu should check out our Classic Concentration shirt, the cake kinda looks like a pie on there:

Classic Concentration - Blue

I did see that one, and I did think it looked a bit like a piece of pie. Could be a really thick slice of buttermilk pie...

By the way, I'm of the opinion that every meal should be a "cheat meal". How about a shirt like that?

First off... CONGRATS! Being a 'entrepreneur' myself, I recognize the blood, sweat and tears that go into these efforts.
Also, I like the name and concept. Wish you great success.

*edit* Huge props if you only begun 2 months ago!!! Although it may seem like a simple concept, from the time one conceives the idea to execution can be very lengthy.

Congrats on a clever concept! I actually work in the fashion industry for VF Corporation, the largest apparel company in the world. It owns brands such as The North Face, 7 For All Mankind, Nautica, Timberland, Lee, Wrangler, etc. so I appreciate what you're doing.

I'd love to see your tees be moisture wicking, which would complement your vision. Best of luck to you and your line!

That one is selling well, but the hands-down best sellers right now are Dead Lift and Gym Shirt.

Thanks so much. I went to school for graphic design and finally decided to do something with my degree that I love . It's obviously not soon enough to quit my day job, but I sure hope it eventually turns into that. I had a very tight timeline to get things off the ground, I initially wanted to launch April 1, but wasnt going to have the shirts in time. I waited until April 15, my bday, to make the launch since I knew so many people would be visiting my page. Hello FREE Marketing!

I was kidding. I would have guessed those 2 were the top sellers.

I like the Cake + Weights one but it seems lacking to me, like it needs an = something...

$.02

Best of luck to you bro!

Awesome Idea. I'm in this category. i work out 5 days a week so I can eat all the things I like. I agree with the moisture wicking option for shirts.
My other problem is buying cloths to work out in. A pack of white shirts and some on sale gym shorts works fine for me. But the gym def is full of people wanting to show off fashion.

Some shirts look ok but I would never wear a shirt with a giant cake on it.

Congrats on the business. But when I clicked on the thread I thought Cakes meant something else. I suggest the next batch have scratch and sniff. It's more incentive when you smell the sweet stuff.
