For me, the 12C might be faster and more livable... but there seems to be so much more passion and soul in the F-car from the curves, the way it drives, and the noise.

Ferrari is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. They've turned heads for decades and will continue to do so. People who have no idea about cars instantly recognize a Ferrari when they see them. No one outside of enthusiasts would recognize a McLaren or appreciate it's heritage.

The Ferrari is simply a better car, the MC is just another one that tries to do what the Ferrari does, migth do some things better, but will never be fully better,... And that's why, because it tries to be better, it was made to be better, but it just isn't.

Even when I disregard the massive status and history associated with the Ferrari name, I find the 458 to be superior based on its own merit in every aspect that can't be quantitatively measured. The McClaren obviously never had a fighting chance on the aural front as soon as they announced that the MP4 was gonna be F/I; no contest there. I also find the 458's design superior, and not from a typical view based on traditional rule, but more because it's simultaneously memorable, captivating, and controversial without resorting to gimmicks. Way to break up the tried-and-true front bumper template and still look good, Ferrari.
Who gives a damn about everyday driveability. The 458 is still plenty comfortable for a supercar, and it's only when you directly compare ot to the Macca that you might be wanting. The Ferrari is my choice without any trace of a doubt. Btw perfect color combo in the OP pic, TK.

Even if track results of the Macca disapointed, I'd still pick the MP4-12C. For me the Macca looks better than the Ferrari, well infact for me the only good looking Ferrari's are the 599 anf F430, but a Ferrari is not about looks but about feeling. I like the NA aspirated engine alot more, but also like the MP4-12C engine is one of the very few turbo engines able to rev till 8.500 RPM. The Ferrari is maybe the better drivers car, but in this case the 911 GT3 RS is even better, the GT3 RS 4.0 goes one step further.
At the end my pick would be the Macca, but mostly because of all its technology, CF coque, wishbones coilovers and such things. What I dislike about both cars are the dual-clutch gearboxes, they just sound automatic. I like the LF-A's and Aventadors gear boxes much more, they are much more aggressive. I am eagerly waiting the next great battle in the coming years: Ferrari 458 Italia vs. McLaren MP4-12C vs. Lamborghini Cabrera vs. Porsche 926 vs. Lotus Esprit (2013) vs. De Tomaso Panthera (2013) vs. Mercedes SLS AMG vs. Lexus LF-A vs. Corvette Z07 vs. Audi R8 (Type 43) vs. BMW M-One vs. Honda NSX (2015) (hope it comes out) |

No contest, the 458. Best sportscar atm imo, and one of the best ever.
Though I still believe the F1(LM please) is the greatest sportscar of all time. This vid says it all: |

Read EVO magazines July(?) edition and you will see why the Ferrari beats the MP4. McLaren have made a game changing car, but it has no soul.
Epic handling and 30mpg (UK), surreal comfort, but no passion. |

Tough choice. The old McLaren is one of my favorite super cars of all times. On the other hand Ferrari has enormous legacy in building high quality sports cars. My vote goes for Ferrari.

Wouldn't mind either. Pointless poll because people who have the ability to get one will have the moolah to get the other as well.
