It is Phoenix gold. I actually love that color on the E46 M3. I think it is much better than the Easter bunny yellow that BMW calls Dakar.

If I was going to buy a E46 M then that is the color I would want! That has always been the color I wanted since the first time I saw an M3.

How do you find out what colors are available through BMW individual? Do you have to go to the dealership?
I would start with the dealer. My uncle had a few of these options added to his old E39 540. He worked through his SA on this. From what he told me and what I remember, it was a bit of a lengthy process.

Any shade of brown/green, also not a fan of the "frozen" matte colors.

So, all the factory frozen colors I have seen have been boring. I wonder how a frozen LMB would look?

Phoenix yellow rocks! It was the colour the BMW introduced the E46 in.
Here's my old car. No other bimmer model got that colour.

Wrong answer. S54 M Coupes (E36/8's, and M Roadsters E36/7's) were offered in Phoenix Yellow and Laguna Seca Blue for 2001 and 2002, same as E46 M3's. They even had Pheonix Yellow and Laguna Seca Blue as optional interior colors, unlike M3's.

I spent a good deal of time looking for an LSB M Coupe with black interior. If I recall, there were about 16 built, and a similar number of PY Coupes with all black interior. The majority of both had the grey and black interior and some had their respective exterior color on the inside too. I even recall there was at least one LSB coupe with Estoril Blue and black interior, which was a better match to LSB, at least in pictures.

Since the E36/8 cars were built in South Carolina, Individual and paint to match were never offered. There are pictures of Z4's and E9x's in PY, but those were Individual cars.

Effectively every S54 M Coupe was a special order. There were only 612 (+/- a few) sold world wide.

Indeed, the S54 variant was quite rare. Didn't know it came in Phoenix yellow and LSB though, that is quite outrageous for an already outrageous looking shoe.

I think the worst color is Bronzit.
