Yes, test driving is the end-all, but if you are buying, the Audi is more if a gamble. I lease most of the time and we have had--in this order--a 2004 A4 (first "fancy" car), then 2007 328i coupe. But then I saw a 2008 TT roadster on sale with 111 miles on it, turned the 328i in early and bought the TT.
Didn't make it to the 3rd year. Though the TT was gun and the cabin incredibly beautiful, it never impressed me like the 328i. Besides, with my Audi friends having issues with the 2.0T left and right, o started panicking about my dumb decision to buy. The TT went in the shop after about 5500 miles when top refused to close. While it was there, they also fixed the mechatronic and balanced the wheels because car vibrated at speeds higher than 80mph. When I got it back, it drove way better, but I NEVER had to take 328i to dealer except for scheduled maintenance. Anyway, now I'm in a 2011 Z4 and have no regrets. We went back to Audi for its beautiful design and interiors, but never again will I trap myself in a purchase. My 24-month lease on Z4 is perfect. I like new and shiny things too much to have a vat for much longer. |
