yes it's safe and you shouldn't worry, but have you ever considered how grossly expensive it is to ship a bumper from the UK to CA?
also, does the whole auction pass the 'if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is' litmus test? |

Not to mention if it is in pounds, you are paying x2 in dollars..
Also, possibly import taxes, as well as other fees.

International Shipping charges on eBay do not include import taxes and 'stuff'. That would be your responsibility when it arrives here in the US.
I have the following text on all my listings : International Buyers : All items are advertised for sale in US Dollars. International Buyers are responsible for checking current exchange rates. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. Customs fees are normally charged by the shipping company or collected when you pick the item up. These fees are not additional shipping charges. We won't under-value merchandise or mark the item as a gift on customs forms. Doing that is against U.S. and international laws. It works the same way in every country, eBay recommends that sellers put the above text in their listings so buyers won't be upset when they get a huge bill from customs. |

Have a read here
It's important that the seller complete the paperwork correctly. One of the biggest hold-ups at customs is incorrect paperwork and discounted prices to avoid taxes. We quite often get emails asking us to make a several hundred dollar item as a few dollars to help them avoid taxes. We use USPS exclusively for non-NA shipping. We also fill out the paperwork the same every time. We always use the item title as the description, never use a different price than the sales price and under type of goods we choose other, and then in the note box we put 'eBay item' with the item #. That way if customs in a country flags an item they can check the sales record quite easily. We've found that this has been very successful for international shipping. |
