My only problem with The Z06 is the average age of the owners. Most of the people I see driving these are already collecting social security

That's great but what does that have to do with the abilities of the car?
Would you feel the same way about the M3 if the average age of the owners where older than you'd like?

Has nothing to do with the abilities at all. Just not sure why senior citizens are GM's target audience for Corvettes

one reason - $$$$$$. Personally, I'm not much on waiting to buy something until I'm too old to enjoy it. I had the means so I bought a Vette and I'm enjoying every bit of the car while I'm young and can really enjoy it.

per se?.

The Corvette is in its 54th year. Many current owners who may seem elderly probably drooled over C2s in their youth.

Now they have the funds they buy one. I bought my first at 35 but most of the folks in the Corvette Club are over 50 and it's a big club.

On Corvetteforum however there are a ton of young'uns.

Yeah, the old Z06 is not as fast as the new one. I was also testing against the new one C6, not Z06(empty highway, late night, no alcohol levels). The person in the corvette seem to take more time than ussual doing each shift. This slowed him down everytime it was done. However, on one gear pulling forward he pulls a bit away. But everytimes he had to change gears he went to the same spot where we started. This car seem stock to me. And he was a young driver, maybe with his dad's car. Pretty fun to see how he couldn't pull away from "a fat man, in a four door selun" (selun? selum?).

drove a 02' corvette for some time, I really didn't care for it after about a year. It was fun at first, but you get tired of falling in and out of the car, heh. The 405hp was nice, it is a nice car generally speaking, powerful, heavy steering (which i like), nice seats, etc.

Exterior finish was nice, interior was lousy when compared to BMW. Huge buttons for stereo (was bose, but didn't sound like it - may have just been Bose stickers which add "great sound"...) the average button was about the size of your hand - reach out and "beep - boop - boop" to listen to something...typical in most american and asian cars.

Corvette < 335i ...or M3/5 - By normal standards, i'd say its one of or the best american made car...i'm biased though, I dislike all american cars...staunt patriot, but the cars rot - styling, finish...the Germans know how its done.

Well see my sig.

The C5 Z06 out of the box rocks. 0-60 in low 4s, 1.06 later g handling (my favorite feature), it is hard to explain how driving a car that is capable of over 1g lateral accel. feels. Since I am a pilot, the best way I can explain the feeling, is when you make a quick asent and add a little g load to the airplane, that feeling in a long, high speed sweeper is amazing.

I miss mine, but now have a little girl, so the 2 seat sports cars are out for me until she is out of a car/booster seat.

I have not taken delivery of my 335I yet, but will be in about 2 mths (just ordered it).

I plan on doig PROcede on , which should get it in the general RWHP range and slightly above it in RWTQ dept. But you have to remember the Z06 weighs in at 3,1xx lbs, while the 335I is what 3500 - 3600lbs?

Even by todays standards the C5 Z06 is a beast that deserves respect.
