Loan modification

I know it's bad place to ask for this question but I couldn't get any reviews from google on the law firm I'm seeking to use for loan modification.
Does anyone know about law firm "consumer attorney services, p.a.?
I'm just trying to see if they would worth my dollars to have them serve my case.

You really should not need a lawyer to get a loan modification. There are non-profits and government agencies that should be able to help you for free

do you have a second also?

a friend of mine had a first and second to deal with, he used an attorney and was glad he did, I didn't ask many pointed questions, I don't feel like its my place, but he found the attorneys guidance to be valuable.

it sounded like the second really complicated things.

If you truly need a loan modification there's no need to get a 3rd party involved just contact your mortgage servicer and apply for it. It's not a simple process but as long as you're on top of things it will be a breeze. I used to work in loss mitigation for a large non prime servicing company and you wouldn't believe the fees that these 3rd parties charged to fax documents for the home owners.

Hmm, based on your location, New Century? Ameriquest? Option One? Countrywide?

Just wondering if you and I have worked together...

It's for my dad and modification was denied from the mortgage lender after 5 months. Lawyer is saying sometimes banks do that just to put us in more debt, resulting in foreclosure or bring out the secret cash stash....
They want retainer of $1000 and $465 a month for a case length which would last between 3~5 months.

Would you recommend any other place?

you don't need a lawyer...you can do it yourself. You need to talk to the company you're trying to do a Loan modification with. Ask for an RMA ( Request for Modification and Affidavit). It will ask for your last 1040's, paystubs, W2's. After you fill the paperwork, you will have to go back and forth with your lender if they want for paperwork from you. And you wait, and hopefully they approve it. I'm going through this right now..and honestly it doesn't look good for me. Hope everything works out for you.
