How does it compare to the M Coupe performance wise? I know the magazine numbers but am always interested in the owner's thoughts.

It's only been a few days, but my initial impressions are:

• The S54 sounds better throughout the rev range, while the Boxster engine needs to be up there a bit to sound good.
  
• I'm surprised at how much torquier it feels, when actually their numbers are similar.
  
• Incredibly, the range of the key remote seems to be just as pathetic as the M Coupe.

Awesome buy. I've been driving a stock 08 Boxster around for the weekend and it's been fun. It handles quite well and has better power than I thought, so I can imagine what the S is like. My only compliant was the seat. I'm a pretty tall guy (6'3") and I just couldn't get the seat positioned comfortably.

Awesome! Glad to see another Porsche guy on here. Ive had a 87 944 Turbo, 86 928 S, 88 944 Celebration Edition and my dad has a 78 928 Euro with the s4 bumpers and wing. Thats a great looking boxster

Last summer. I went from the Solstice to the Z3 coupe to the Fit 500 to this in the last 9 months. That sort of thing is why friends and family are so impressed that I've kept the M Coupe this long, and plan to keep it indeifinitely.

Thanks, BG. I was actually a Porsche guy first - I used to own these:



That's my 1983 911SC, 944 and 928S, all Guards Red with black interior. The 987S is my first modern-era Porsche.

Congrats! I think the Boxster/Cayman + M3 is a great combo. I love having to decide which to take every morning.. Hmm high-revving 6 corner carver v high-revving V8 monster.

If it came down to keeping one, I'd definitely kep the M Coupe. It's nice having options, though.
